YMMV Public Service Announcement - Google Docs Dark Mode, But Like Actually Dark · 1:19am Jan 25th, 2022
Hey!
Some of y'all might already have made up your own variations on dark mode for google docs, but I just discovered an extra option that I felt obligated to share since I hate light mode so goddam much and it's been ten fucking years that I've had to put up with half-assed dark modes.
First, download this (or some other dark mode variation for your browser that you trust).
Second, in Google Docs, File >> Page Setup:
Third, set page color to black, then press Save as Default:
Fourth, Ctrl+A for select all (if doing this to a document you're currently working on) and on your main document toolbar change the text color to white:
And you're done! Enjoy not burning holes through your eyeball sockets!
Onward and Upward!
EDIT:
Apparently, if you use the default mouse pointer, it gets lost on the page when it swaps to the text cursor, which is a thin black line. I had no idea that was a thing, so I'mma show you something else wonderful.
Go to Windows Settings and search for Mouse Settings, then top right, Additional Mouse Options:
Pointers tab at the top, then change the scheme to Windows Black, and make sure the Enable Pointer Shadow box is checked:
Dark mouse with white outline is a godsend in a lot of applications, I've found. It's a lot harder to lose than the default on most websites and the like!
That's still basic level. You need to do like Shortskirts and do brick-red font color. Seriously though, how does Skirts not get angry while doing that?

I'm nothing if not basic. Sometimes, all you need is basic.
OH THANK GOD

I think it just is part of their flow. Have you read their fics? Skirts loves the suffering on their eyes.

Not sure if joking.

I was joking entirely. XD
