    So yeah, Space Wars Day or whatever

    Honestly I've been checked out on Star Wars for a long time: longer than before the new trilogy came around to sour it even further. I mean I technically still write Star Wars, though it's nothing that can be accepted by any ol' fan. For one thing, the Ssi-Ruuk are regularly represented, and another is that they're not presented as their original selves. Still a shame they're so under-utilized in

    So something curious has just happened: I just got done watching the South Park Post-Covid two part special, and it has put me in a very positive and hopeful mindset. Yeah: South Park of all things giving me the feel-goods. Like legitimate fuzzies about things working out.

So something curious has just happened: I just got done watching the South Park Post-Covid two part special, and it has put me in a very positive and hopeful mindset. Yeah: South Park of all things giving me the feel-goods. Like legitimate fuzzies about things working out.

Some history: I had been a South Park fan since I was ten years old, watching whatever episodes were broadcasted over to Germany by the end of the 90s. It was about two years ago that I had stopped watching, having just lost interest. As a result, I missed out on the previous season and most of this one. I only knew of this Post Covid special because it kept being advertised on TV while I was visiting my sister over Thanksgiving. It had an interesting enough premise for me: a glimpse into the future of the kids, where the pandemic has finally ended after 40 years and the kind of world that has been shaped as a result.

It was funny seeing the kinds of adults the gang has become, and what jabs Matt and Trey were taking this time around. What I hadn't expected was for there to be a very feel-good message at the end of the it all that resonates with what's happening now. That's sorta par for the course with this show after all these decades: making witty commentary and occasionally giving some relevant lesson people could consider. But this... this actually got me in the ol' ticker. Got me tearing up a bit; feeling optimistic. Dunno how long it will last, if it will stick, of if I'm just being silly over nothing, but in this moment I feel good about things.

I'd recommend anyone to give the special a look if you're South Park fans both old and new. It might not tickle you quite the way it did me, but it's still that quality clever bit of entertainment you all know. Before I go, I just want to impart this quick nugget on ya:

Cut yourselves some slack. It's been rough times for seemingly forever, things are stressful and don't make sense, but you're keeping on. You're doing what you can with what's there. Don't be so hard on yourselves. Just keep going and doing. You'll get there well enough.

Peace.

Can't imagine that's the kind of show a ten year old should be watching. c.c;

Myself, I stopped watching it in season 4 and have never looked back. :B
