Happy New Year! Happy January!

Hey, it's my birthday this month on January 30th! One of my readers (midnight arrow) also has a birthday this month on January 17th.

My daughter goes back to school on Monday, and yes, I am scared about it again. She is vaccinated. My husband and I are boosted, but this omicron variant is still ever so contagious. I find some comfort and relief in all three of us being vaccinated nonetheless, and I do still implore anyone who hasn't gotten a vaccination yet—and can, to please, please do it.

Betty White passed away yesterday, and that hurt. I know she was planning a big birthday party for turning 100 in a few weeks. Just like midnight arrow, her birthday is on January 17th. There will still be a celebration done in tribute to her. I have a soft spot for Betty White since one of her books was part of helping me through a depressive episode in 2019.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is expected to leave Netflix February 1, 2022. This news is disappointing since Netflix is my main source to view the episodes from the first 8 seasons. I also think it has the best colors for the show.

I watched Encanto. There is so much I want to say on it, so maybe I'll review it sometime. I loved it for the colors, the music, the characters, the animation, and so, so much, but I was very frustrated by certain plot elements that brought the whole thing down for me. I still like it more than I dislike it.

All actors have their scripts, and the first round of recordings from them are due January 10th.

I don't know about publishing dates yet. I tried a new thing this time around where I recorded the narration well in advance. Hopefully, it's still good enough in my eyes and won't require many retakes. The main thing, if that plan works out, is dropping in the character lines and some retakes are expected from that. If it's anything like last TMM audiobook project, time of publishing after recording was usually a few weeks to a few months.

Utaan 42

I have finally, finally finished this rather daunting project. I had meant to take it slow as a thing to check in on and work on between The Master Mev. When waiting for the casting call to run its course, I got caught up in trying to get this done. I grew increasingly committed to finishing it and improved from the first round of recordings where my narration was notably slower and softer.

Nonetheless, here is the result of months of solo recording work.

Utaan: Chapter 42 - Loyalty's Never Gone For Long (Audiobook Reading)

Working on this project made me want to do Austraeoh all the more. Truthfully, I've wanted to do Austraeoh since reading it in late 2019 but never got a reply from the author, then decided to focus on my own story instead. I finally caved on getting permission since I know other recordings exist of his work, and he even advertised looking for actors for a different story on another project.

Writing - The Master Mev

The Master Mev text version is still in the place of being back but probably not on a weekly basis. I am mildly tempted to take another break, focus on getting all the pictures done first, then figure out what kind of schedule I want from there. I haven't committed to that idea so am just noting it as a possibility here. The current plan is still to move along as best I can at 1-2 weeks between whatever other project is happening.
