Rise and Shine Chapter 12: Where is it? · 8:57am Aug 5th, 2021
Mmkay, so, I bet a few of you are wondering where the next chapter of Rise and Shine is. To give you all a quick rundown, my editor's been busy for the last while, so the chapter hasn't had a chance for final revisions, unfortunately. With any luck that should be resolved within the next week or two and we can be back on track.
I've also been dealing with a very irritating and persistent case of recurring Insomnia, brought about (I think) by a combo of high temperatures and humidity in the air. This makes me sweat in bed, which in turn makes me roast, and in general makes it hard for me to sleep, killing my drive to do, well, anything really.
But I'm working on it bit by bit, so hopefully things will be back up to snuff soon.

Oh man, I know both of those feels. The insomnia is a bitch, and waiting on your editor sucks. Especially 'cuz they're a person too and you can't bitch at them to do something for you for free when they have their own lives (I mean, you could, but that's a dick move).

That's not really a problem with us. We have a certain pattern, you see. They tell me they will get it done by X time, they miss that time, I send them a gif of a very angry man glaring them down, accompanied by text like "I don't believe you" or "So, that was a fwording lie."
Then they notify me with a smirk that they will get it done by Y time and actually do it that time. Usually.
We have a friendly rapport, so any 'bitching' is all in good fun. And I am quite well versed in shit-talking in good fun.

Oh no, I don’t actually bitch at my editor either. That’s why I try not to make promises to my readers with my chapters until they’re actually FINISHED.
My bud’s a dad with two kids, and my DM, so I know that he’s got a bunch on his plate and just ask nicely when he has time. And if it’s not for a month, I deal and wait. And I let the readers know. And then they deal and wait.
