Chapter 12 has been released · 9:19am May 8th, 2021
So I released Chapter 12 and I'm refining my writing methods, the thing I learned this week is that when I'm done writing I still need to sit down and write a sentence or two as to where things are going next so it sticks in my head, and also i don't count that towards the writing I got done for that day. As indicated by the last nine years I've spent writing that's just planning and planning doesn't get writing done, it helps, but writing is the only thing that gets writing done. I don't need any help with the planning part of writing as evidenced by the folder for this story ballooning outwards such that the notes for it are likely as long as the story itself already is.
Anyway I hope you enjoyed Muffin the spider as well as the gold based economy apocalypse and getting a chapter inside of two weeks from the last one. I do not think I'm ever going to get chapters out faster than this and this 3000ish words seems to be about where my chapters are going to stay from here on out, I'm not having trouble with the word quota or even really looking at the chapter word quota. The length of these chapters is just coming naturally.
There should also be a lot less annoying cliffhangers from now on because frankly what happened with a lot of those was "It's been months since I released a chapter and I want to release something RIGHT now, I'm at a decent word count and I could just do a cliffhanger." Now it's more "hey this sounds like a good stopping point, lets check the word count for this chapter." and I think that's going to improve the quality of my writing massively.
