Hey all,
I figured I’d give a small update as to what’s in the pipeline at this point. There isn’t an exact timeline for any of this yet, nor is there any real priority list. At the moment, it’s a lot of striking while the inspiration is hot.
Gingerbread House of Cards - Yes, the title is a reference to the show, House of Cards. No, I haven’t seen it. Yes, it’s a Pinkie Pie story. The main goal of this was to try and figure out how to write a few of the Mane 6 better by writing, hopefully, something that feels in line with how FIM was. I’m not 100% on when this’ll be out. I’m aiming for somewhere in the next two weeks, but I’ve been writing and rewriting a scene for this over the last few days. Pretty sure once I’ve broken through that, the rest of the story should fall in line easier.
Multidimensional Body Displacement II - I did promise this one, and I have an outline together for it. Currently letting it sit for a few days before I come back and look at it again with a fresh set of eyes. The plan is to make it a multi-chapter story, but not anything too long. I don’t really have a word count in mind for it. For now, it’s going to be a case of playing it by ear, and seeing how it goes when I start really working on it.
Untitled Big Project - Bland, unexplanatory name, I know. Without going into too much detail, I’m wanting to write something well before season one starts. The exact point in time is still up in the air, but the story will be focused on Luna and Celestia as the pieces start to fall into place for Luna’s corruption. It’s not exactly a fresh idea, but it’s a story idea I’ve had kicking around for a while that I think I want to try diving into once I’m more comfortable with my writing ability.
- Consequences of Your Failure, Chapter One rewrite - This isn’t a priority at all. But I’m not all that happy with how the first chapter in that story went. I think I should have split the whole story into three chapters, rather than two. The first chapter was so densely packed with details that I don’t think anything had the room to breathe and really stick. I’m elated with how the second chapter came out, and that’s the lesson I took out of that chapter. One day, I might redo the first chapter. Or at least reedit it.
Everything is a learning process, and writing is no different. For the most part, everything I post right now would best be described as trial and error. I’m learning a fair bit while writing, which is why I’ve been sticking to smallish one-shots (yes Consequences was two chapters, but shh) right now.
Beyond that, I don’t really have anything else to add. Thank you again everyone for finding something I’ve written as entertaining, or at the least interesting!
