Work is still kicking my butt and I wrote a lot... but... · 11:18pm Feb 25th, 2021
It's shit.
I had the entire next chapter of Stars Shine Forth written. 5kish words. It was going to go up mid february, but I've got a big project on the go and hadn't had time to make my final edit before throwing it into the void. When I finally got to it, what I found was horrible. Five thousand two-hundred words of crappy, telly prose with no heart and no urgency, in what's supposed to be a bunch of characters sheltering from the near-existential threat of an uncontrolled storm. Naturally I've throw it away and have to write the chapter again.
I know this isn't what any of you wanted to see. I'm sorry for that, but I don't want to feed you slop when I know I can do better.
Also hey G5 is a thing now apparently. How about that?
I'm sorry to hear about junking the chapter, but I appreciate your commitment to quality. Looking forward to it when it's ready.
I'd very much rather you felt good about what you publish. It probably won't help you feel any better, but you're doing the right thing, and we obviously can wait until you're good and ready!

That's what I'm telling myself as well. It's a tough chapter too, because it is something of a pivot-point in the story, so I want to be sure it's good. Or good enough.
Ah, I'm sorry you've been having difficulty; good luck with writing and work, and in general!
