He was a really wonderful guy. And I say that as someone who's never really been a Trek fan, but all the same, Mr. Doohan sounds like a real noble character.
From what I've read James Doohan also inspired several to become scientists.
Fully agree here. World class guy that as an actor didn't have to do what he did but he did it anyway.
