Fallout: Equestria or 'Fallout With Ponies'?

This might be a weird question but does anyone here like Fallout Equestria? I'm writing a fallout story and I know nothing about the FoE universe. I know a lot about the fallout universe though

Question is should I try to write the story to fit into the fallout equestria universe or just write a fallout story with ponies?

My thinking is that I like the technocratic stone age the world was thrusted into in the fallout series but learning all ponified stuff in FoE feels like a really big chore.

I guess the real question should be is Fallout: Equestria still popular? Or popular enough to spend hours and hours researching and tooling my story to fit into the FoE mold? I have about 4 novellas worth of an outline written out, at least in terms of a story arch, should I make if pure FoR or would I have a better reception from making a "Fallout story with ponies" as opposed to one in the FoE universe?

Depends. I read both kinds of stories. As long you make it clear that your story don't take place in FoE universe.
And lore of FoE is too much developed to live something for creative freedom.(i read the original story so trust me on that front) That and being cult-classic you would have critics pointing every divination and cantrodiction in your story to original story.

And that's what's got me stuck at this crossroads. If I do fallout with ponies I can essentially create my own blended universe, and I can even throw in some FoE elements as well, essentially introducing the readers to the universe as the story progresses. However the fact that FoE is a cult classic makes it seems like I'm going to get downvote bombed for getting information wrong, although that's probably just paranoia speaking, what would most likely happen is getting myself stuck in development hell with people pointing out what I got wrong and having to go back and rewrite, or spend hours scouring the wiki which would be less time writing.

I haven’t seen to many stories of just fallout with ponies, I feel like that would make a great contribution to this site
