    Quickdraw Blog. BANG!

Heya folks! This will be a quick blog, more rapid update outta necessity than witty commentary, so i'll cut straight to the chase. I've got good and bad news. The good, in my opinion, outweight the bad! But you be the judge:

It Cuts Like a Knife; It Might Leave You Bleeding

Story reviews are interesting because, sure, you can use them to know if a certain book will be the right one for you? But I feel they’re more useful when the review is in itself a tool to talk about storytelling in general. You review a book, but the book is a jumping-off point to discuss what it means to have good pacing; stuff like that.

A Full Year of Only Mondays

Good morning. This is, from my point of view, a comedy blog. From the point of view of my family and loved ones, it's a horror story.

I'm so fucking back, baby. Hi, all. Did you miss me? I know I did.

Consider joining my Patreon if you like these comics; I spend a lot of time making these, and every bit helps.

Sorry for the double patreon link; these comics are reposted in derpibooru lately and I felt like adding the link to the comic would cover my bases, but you guys getting a direct link to click is more comfortable, so.

Here's a comic about Gen Z being the greatest generation, who deserves more than we gave them, unironically. It's mostly about how much I like Rarity, though.

Sandbar is the only thing that matters.

Plays poker with the Major Arcana

You joke, but that's not too far off from the deck's actual origin. Modern decks just renamed the Minor Arcana and whittled the Major down to two variations of The Fool.

5440969 To be fair, Rarity is pretty great. But so're Yona and Pinkie/Silverstream.

A wonderful comic as always Ara

I find the lack of a Pinkie introduction box disturbing :twilightoops:

Interesting how keeping Rarity alive surpasses doing so for Twilight. Though fabulosity is rather... Rare.
YEEEEAAAHHH!! :coolphoto:

I can't say I was expecting that description, especially since the only instrument I know how to play is the trombone.

Regardless, brilliant pile of social commentary wrapped in hilarious horse and horse-adjacent species antics. One day, the world will love and fear Yona as it should.

These comics give me life. Pure anima injected directly into my veins.

Keep being amazing.

That was great

This is hilarious.

This is probably the among the top 5 most hilarious things you've ever made.

I absolutely love how, in panel 36, they all turn to Ocellus for an explanation!

As for Rarity? Yeah... fair enough.

Love the description and drawing! Yarr!

Why is it that everything you write that doesn't make sense, makes sense?!

Truly, Argon, you were MEANT for comics.

Sandbar and his new Applejack hat are freaking hilarious. He's just so happy.

Also Blight of Boring Bastards is the greatest thing anyone has ever said about me.

Even though this upped my opinion of the other student six, Ocellus is still my favorite. Always will be. Goes to additional classes because her friends are there (extra credit up the wazoo)— no wonder she'd replace Rainbow Dash.

Also:

Never bitten, never beaten

Hell friggin' yeah, bitches.

all-time ace dogfighter

See above.

So i did some googling after that description.

I don't hate it?

It's funny, I think my love for Rarity has grown since I stopped watching the show. And 67% of it is due to Mono. Anyway, I like the comic even if I don't know who any of these creatures are. Well, except Scootaloo-the-dragon. I remember Socotaloo-the-dragon from commercials.

Hey question

When are you going to compile these into a book that i can pay actual money for?

Because I will

I will pay actual money for them

Don't ask where i'm getting it from since i'm a college student, but i will pay money to have sweet paper hardcopy versions of these comics so i can rub my superiority in other tiny horse fan's faces that i have a hardcopy first edition version of your comics

Speak fast, use big words, and define your own reality, and anything can make sense.

Assigning elements to the Student Six has always been a trap; everybody gets lured in by Silverstream and then gets stuck halfway through and starts bluffing. Even the show can't decide what the answer should be.

But perhaps Spike is the missing piece.

All of these are amazing, but I absolutely love panel 4.

Gallus' reaction to Silverstream having a thought is just priceless. :rainbowlaugh:

weird

more please

5441056
I remain convinced that Twilight Sparkle herself was bluffing slightly during that speech

This is great!

I wish I had a cowboy hat, I mean do you see how happy Sandbar is!?

I find the lack of a Pinkie introduction box disturbing

Pinkie does not actually exist; she is just a shared magical hallucination of the Everyman-Jester Jungian archetype
:pinkiehappy:

Just as the Elements are not the virtues of the Pillars, I imagine that the qualities embodied by the Student Six are further evolutions of those concepts. The catch, of course, is figuring out what those new qualities actually are.

"Grammar checked the old prophets" is a power move, honestly.

I'm all for making Rarity immortal.

Excellent work, once again.

Oh I have absolutely no idea who most of these people are, but they're funny as heck!

Great writing as always, and while there is a marked difference between your previous digital stuff and this analogue(?) drawing it's still surprisingly good.

Wow, you are in the comments of, like, EVERYTHING I read...
Username checks out, I guess?

P.s. I really like this theory!

I’m surprised some of Shy’s explanation of Yona didn’t include how they were all more than willing to take up the banner so she could rule.

This is the joy of being alive.

Amazing as always.

(Though canonically, as partially confirmed by authors and showrunner:
Yona is Honesty/Strength/Applejack/Rockhoof
Sandbar is Kindness/Healing/Fluttershy/Meadowbrook
Silverstream is Laughter/Hope/Pinkie/Somnambula
Ocellus is Generosity/Beauty/Rarity/Mistmane
Smolder is Loyalty/Bravery/Dash/Magnus
...and Gallus is Spike. Er, I mean, Magic/Sorcery/Sparkle/Swirl.)

*roflmao* :rainbowlaugh:
Thank you *so* much for that!

This was funny.

I love how when they're confused, they all immediately look to Occelus for the answer. It's obvious but it's also really cute.

Though if I'm forced to be honest, I'm not sure about the way you draw her eyes? I get that light is supposed to reflect in them because they're all weird and buggy, but they kinda look like pupils and I'm never sure where she's looking. IDK if that's a real problem though.

I am so late to this but this is amazing

Read this again.

Still great.

5441224
My personal headcanon?
Gallus - Connection
Smolder - Acceptance
Yona - Pride
Sandbar - Humility
Silverstream - Wonder
Ocellus - Discovery

Collectively, you could call them the Elements of Unity.

5440985
Wait what you play TROMBONE?!?!?

Not since my freshman year of high school. It stopped being fun.
