Do They Provide and Immunity?

So, I was looking back at the story of the sirens and something started to dawn on me. When the Sirens sang, The Humane 7 (or at least 6 of the members at the time) had not been affected by the singing of the Siren's music. This got me thinking, when they were in the pony realm, the "Pillars of Light" who were the pre-curser force to the bearers of the Elements of Harmony, battled against them and seemed to be unaffected by the Siren Magic. Star Swirl himself stated that the Tree of Harmony came from planting the magic of each of the Pillars of Light's magical strength within it's seed. So, this started to make me wonder. Those who were bearers of this magic, were they provided an immunity to other certain magical forces that could succumb most to discorse or mind control?

I felt this may be true, because, when looked at what happened to Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna, they didn't seem to have that immunity, since they were not connected to the elements, just like their pony counterparts at that point in time. It also made me wonder, that if Starlight and her crew were able to venture to Queen Chrysalis's kingdom with connection to the elements, would the elements have of given them an immunity to the chair that kept all magic not of Chrysalis's kingdom out?

I know at this time, the Elements would not have been able to be removed without the Plunder Vines going on a rampage, but it does make one wonder.

But what do you all think? Do you think that the Elements might provide a level of Immunity to the bearers from other dark magic. I know you would point out that Discord manipulated them, but his is chaos magic, so his magic isn't exactly dark, but can be used for dark intention, and chaos needs to balance out harmony, which is why Tia offered Discord a second chance, in my opinion.
