Regarding the Lack of Updates · 7:37am Jan 17th, 2021
Lately a lot of folks have been asking about the status of Apathy, seeing as its been months since the first chapter. I wanted to make a quick post to apologize for that, and to tell you all that the story is not cancelled. I plan to finish this one... eventually. I really don't have an excuse as for why I haven't written more, except that, truthfully, I suffer from clinical depression. I started Apathy during a time when my symptoms were really improving and I had more energy to do things. I really hoped and expected that I would continue it and my other stories right away. Unfortunately I kind of fell into another spiral after that. Some days it's hard to get out of bed. The last few weeks, when I haven't been at work I've just been sleeping - as soon as I'd get home I would lie down and not get up again until nearly twenty-four hours later. I'm talking no eating, no bathing, no using the restroom just... sleeping because I'm so exhausted all the time and frankly can't stand being awake sometimes. So as you can imagine, writing hasn't been a priority. I tell you this not to garner sympathetic comments or to concern you (I have a therapist and my symptoms are improving again so don't worry!) but just to offer an explanation. So yes, the story isn't cancelled, but I honestly can't tell you when it will update again. I'd hate to get your hopes up and tell you a date it will get updated because I know I might not fulfill my promise. I hope you all can understand.
Thank you for your understanding (and all the nice comments, you guys asking when the next chapter comes out has really helped me feel like I've done something worthwhile),
