Weeding Out the Extremists · 5:53am Dec 31st, 2020
I've had a few new followers in the last few days, who might not know what they're getting into. So, setting: Minneapolis, earlier tonight.
Story according to Twitter users: "Cop shoots man just sitting in his car at gas station!"
Story according to credible news media: "Witnesses report that suspect shot at police, police returned fire."
If you have a visceral negative reaction to the second account and prefer the reactionary Twitter version, what you have is an antagonistic relationship with truth. Please leave.
If you are still cheering on the attempted Trumpian overthrow of the duly elected incoming government in the United States (i.e. Joe Biden), Please leave.
If you are in favor of violence against people you do not like, regardless of the reason for that distaste, please leave.
I am not a friend to those who would reject truth, whether that be out of wrong-headed "righteousness" or personal ambition. I am not a friend to those who advocate violence outside of strict, immediate self-defense against a specific and current violent action. The world is super stressful already without having to worry about ticking people off whenever I speak my mind.
Edit: That's one gone, and multiple story upvotes with them. Good riddance. I don't even know whether they're pissed off that I care about truth, oppose the overthrow of a duly elected government, or just that I'm a pacifist. And if their worldview is twisted enough that they think I'm the bad guy for any of these positions, they should try watching any movie ever made, and note that their worldview is more closely aligned with the villain than the hero.
For anybody who doesn't fit into any of the above, have another pony song:
What if you have to use violence against a current violent action that is not directed at you?

I guess I didn't make that explicit, but I consider "self-defense" to include both literal defense of self and the concept legally known as "defense of others". It's simpler to just refer to it under one term, though I suppose it isn't the clearest term to use.
Yeah, I deleted a comment. Blatant dishonesty is bad enough, but now we're talking literal treason and the destruction of the democratic republic. At this point any piece of "evidence" has been so widely debunked that there is no possible conclusion for those who continue to present it short of actively lying. Go. The fuck. Away. People die in civil wars, and you're trying your hardest to lead us there.
