I like big ponies and I cannot lie.

If you go by all the characters that have names or showed up even if they were randomly generated in the show or the comics most of them are female that
I think it's because the female body type is more readily available for the animators to use for creating background characters.
First couple of seasons, that's what they showed. People counted, and we also heard from show people that Hasbro wanted more mares than stallions in the show. Later on, depends on the episode, so you can argue either way.
Now if you’re talking about a genetic standpoint when it comes to feral horses it’s .7 to one male to female and that’s for like higher death toll’s less Stallions being born and having a shorter lifespan In captivity they’re born pretty much one to one what will be born male to female depends on how many resources they have available resources are scarce it is more likely that stallions will be born if resources are plentiful is more likely that females will be born this is true for humans and sometimes the exact opposite for other species And theoretically speaking since in their world nearly all royal guards are stallions Gender ratio it would be much higher for them
When Shining Armour doubles the royal guards in season 9 all extra guards were females. Probably because it was easier to recrute them than same amount of males on short notice.
Well, according to both science and the creators, yes.
The human ratio is 2:1, 2 females for 1 male, but we are patriarcal, in equestria females are more abundan, but there is not a RG role, the rulers happen to be female, the same as England, the queens guards are male, no female, which indicates that a female ruler does not make a matriarchal society.

the fuck kind of drugs are you on that you think women outnumber men around 2:1 IRL? the current global sex ratio is around 1.018 biased towards males. literally EVERY country in the world in terms of sex ratio at birth is biased towards male births, with the highest being in china at over 110 male births per 100 female births. on average it's around 103 to 107 male births per 100 female births. In developing nations this ends up evening out a bit more as boys tend to die before age 5 more than girls in those countries, but even then it's still VERY slightly biased towards males on average. the only countries that approach that level of imbalance are in the middle east and for them it's the opposite, with men MASSIVELY outnumbering women. Those nations being Saudi Arabia (42.93% of population women), Oman (34.16% of population women), the UAE (27.6% of population women), and Qatar (24.93% of population women)
