Ok I wanna start off by saying that holy fuck, I used to be like 145lbs and now I'm nearing 200lbs in weight. Life hit me heard holy hell. Motivation has been a weakness for me since I was in depression. While I'm not that deep in that hole anymore, that motivation part is still a hinderance. Anybody know any good methods to help me there, I'd love to hear it because I'm lacking in self-motivation to do anything.
I'd like to be able to walk 20 kilometers everyday like what my dad does.
Alright, so the main issue of today which I've been contemplating for a long time. I want to either rewrite the whole story, or I want to cancel it altogether.
Right now, I'm writing my own RWBY fanfic over at Fanfiction and I am also planning to create a Star Wars story over at Fanfiction using the same AU I used in Soldier of Three Armies but without any MLP content. Purely Star Wars. Soldier of Three Armies, I'm not cancelling. I want to finish that.
Now for Peace Behind Me, War in Front of Me (I really need to change that title too. It's too long) was started when I was still new to writing. As the story progressed, I began to use it as a test site for ideas for any future plans and it's really hindering the story. One of the biggest problems as well is I'm adding way to much content than necessary and it's honestly poorly written.
I'm not proud of it, I'm absolutely not. It can be better and I did think of a way when I was discussing Fallout X MLP ideas here somewhere in this site and when I was discussing ideas for RWBY with a fellow author at Fanfiction involving Remnant after defeating Salem. Trust me when I say this idea is better than this whole secret continent shit and it's heavily influenced by the Cold War. You guys can figure it out.
So I'm sitting here thinking as I'm writing the RWBY fic, should I cancel it or should I retcon the whole thing. Btw I'm not letting go of that slow buildup. I'm not having the story jump into battle after battle when there are so many elements that will buildup to war.
Also for the equipment of the Imperial Armed Forces, I did see a concern from a reader here that really did open up my eyes. Yes I can be like the Strangreal Universe where the equipment retain their real life names, but there must be practicality. I'm not saying Su-35s can't work with Super Hornets, that can definitely work. The Indian Air Force is using Su-30s alongside Dassault Rafales and the Russians offered Su-35s with NATO avionics to Indonesia because the Indonesian Armed Forces want to use Link 16. No idea btw if those Flankers would be using AESA or PESA.
What I'm saying is they must be compatible like S-400s are not going to work alongside a system that's mainly NATO based. Things like BMPs and T-90s working alongside Leopard 2s is not a problem. They're not that complicated. However, if the Navy is using old Sovremennys as well as newer Udaloys and Arleigh Burkes (Udaloys aren't returning btw. Destroyers will be mainly Arleigh Burkes with Russian Liders), it just seems overly complicated and it's realistically eating up the budget maintaining old Destroyers with American gas guzzlers. Lets be real here, a lot of countries don't want American ships because of how much fucking gas they consume.
Same for the Battleships. They're really not needed there even if they're modernized. It's like the Ace Combat Aegir Fleet where the flagship is an Iowa-class Battleship instead of its lone Kitty Hawk-class Aircraft Carrier. It's suppose to be a modern navy. I will admit it here, the only reason why the Battleships there is just like what Ace Combat did: Fan service. They hold no purpose in a modern navy other than intimidation factors.
What they should be are museum ships. I was going to add other old battleships in the story as a "Museum Fleet" where they sail from city to city every few years so they can be visited by the local population (Equestrian delegates visiting the UTE were going to tour them). Those Battleships included a Nagato-class, a Richelieu-class, a Tennessee-class, an Andrea Doria-class, a Queen Elizabeth-class, and a Scharnhorst-class.
Also scrapping the enslaving Humans thing. I'm going Cold War influence here with influence from Genghis Khan, World War II, and other stuff.
Then there's doctrine. The UTE must cover an entire continent so what I did was inadvertently do the right thing and prioritize twin-engine fighters. Fighters like the F-16 and the Gripen simply would not do. I was also doing a mixture of the US and Indonesian doctrines here. There's a National Guard called the Home Army, cities have their own garrisons, and the entire Empire divided into Sector Commands with either a Regiment or Brigade sized force.
At the same time, I should have utilized single-engine fighters for interceptor roles. That would've gone to the JAS-39 Gripen E btw and not the F-16.
For the 5th gen fighters, lets be honest, I should never have added the Su-57. What I should have stuck with are the F-22s and F-35s. Maybe the Japanese and European 5th/6th generations, but they're still in the drawing board so that's less likely.
So I've clarified that it is possible for the Sukhois to have NATO avionics and the Air Force should be using NATO avionics. No PESA, they should be relying on AESA which I should've clarified in the story but I didn't. Sukhois over MiGs all day every day boys.
Ground Forces aren't much of a problem except for the Anti-Air Defense. Don't really know if the S-400s can be utilized with NATO radars so I should've gone with the SAMP/T or Israel's Arrow. Don't really know any competitors with the Tor M3 so it would've stayed.
So what do you guys think. Retcon, or Cancel?

To be 100% serious, the way this guy sets up his goals was the best thing I ever watch/read on the subject.
I have a little notepad where I write my X's. The goal is do at least the minimum everyday to get the X. Hopefully this helps. The guy in the video being a Strongman/former MMA fighter also gave him credibility to me since lifting and fighting are two of my favorite things.
Rewriting this story is a better idea, because it will hurt us if you cancel it, me especially because so many writers don't seem to want to free our kind.
For Soldiers of Three Armies, I want to see that done as well.

Yeah I mean I used to workout. Despite my short size (5ft 8-5ft 9), I wanted to play baseball or play as a football Safety. Before anybody asks, Quandre Diggs is 5’9” and Tarik Cohen is 5’6” so it is possible.
Problems happened in my family, and we couldn’t afford to let me play sports. One hospital trip would hurt us a lot financially. Depression also happened and I lost any motivation. Now I need that motivation back more than ever.
Rewrite. I love this story and i would like to see it rewritten rather than canceled.
I say rewrite it if you can make it better why bother cancelling it?
Also what’s Link 16? And why are single engine fighters regulated only to intercept roles? And what about divisions or army groups do they fit in the UHE’s military doctrine?

Works usually with NATO platforms, but a Su-35 with NATO avionics may he possible.
Single-engined fighters have much shorter ranges than twin-engined. The UTE’s territories are massive which is why twin-engined fighters are prioritized. The good thing about single-engined fighters are they’re typically smaller fighters, cheap, easy to maintain, and can be used in smaller airports. Lets say among 5 sectors close together, there is a small airport in each sector for single-engine interceptors that can get up quickly to deal with trespassing bogies only within their sector. However, there is a much larger airport in range of all 5 sectors so the twin-engine fighters it houses can respond everywhere.
There are Divisions and Army Groups. However, the Sector Command units respond only to anything within their sectors. The Home Army is utilized everywhere in defense of the Empire. Regular Army are housed in bases scattered throughout the Empire, but they can respond quickly in case there’s trouble in a sector.
Basically Sector Command units are the first line. If things get worse, the Home Army is sent in. If that isn’t enough, the Regular Imperial Army will be sent in.
Think of it like stages
Level 1 Emergency: Dealt with by local law enforcement
Level 2 Emergency: Special Police Units sent in
Level 3 Emergency: Sector Command units respond
Level 4 Emergency: Home Army units deployed
Level 5 Emergency: Imperial Army, Air Force, and possibly Navy respond

On the first week walk/run 1k. As soon as that becomes not as hard, do 2k, then 4k, then 8k, then 16k, then whatever the hell you want to walk/run.
And when I say "When it becomes not as hard," I don't mean when it stops being hard, I mean when your not as exhausted as the day before and you feel like you can do more. But if you've been doing 8k for a whole week and still feel like your not ready try the 16k and see how it feels.
