Alright, so I'm gonna be completely rewriting my Sky Trek series...
WAIT WAIT WAIT don't hate me just yet, fans of it. Let me explain first.
Sky Trek was one of those things idiots like me come up with that's a fun idea, but poorly executed, due of course to said idiocy. Part of this was due to the way I handled the massive crossover aspect of it. You know a big reason why Marvel did so good with Avengers and DC failed with Justice League? Because DC never set all their characters up in their own stories in that universe beforehand. Only Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman got their time of day, and barely in the case of Batman. Marvel, on the other hand, introduced us to the universe piece by piece, and didn't just cram everything in at once.
Hey, that's what I did. And the result, upon re-reading, was a sloppy, tonally inconsistent mess. My guess is most reading it recognized it, but liked it for other reasons.
Thanks to the nature of my new job, I've got time to fix things. Some stories will be changed drastically, some will no longer exist, and others (like Hogwarts Overtale) won't change *too* much but still need some work. The world will be changing as well, with pieces introduced gradually. Picture the current world map but with 'unknown waters' occupying the entire thing save for 'North America' (where the Colonial Union is) at first. Yeah, gonna be lots o' explorin'.
I'll leave the old stories up for now. When the new ones are ready, they'll replace them, but I'll post links to the old ones in a blog if you wanna see em' (plus unreleased content). However, I guarantee the new stuff coming up will be *much, much* better.
Well, as better as a dummy like me can make them, at least :)
On the one hand, this does seem like a wise move for the series. on the other, I've seen a lot of people get halfway through a fanfic reboot and get fed up with it because they're retreading old ground rather than exploring the new. Still, that stronger foundation should lead to a lot of interesting developments. Looking forward to seeing where you go with this.
