Prelude/Forewarning/Author's Note

Hello, originally I had this in a separate chapter the author's note, but as it turns out, this is better.
So, [Full Lance & the Holy Roman Empire] based off of a loose conglomerate of whatever the skimming a few a wikipedia articles left in my brain, as well as sleep deprivation and a legitimate desire to write and receive feedback for it.
I'm writing this as I go without a real goal in mind, despite the fact it would probably be helpful to do so.
I'm also writing this with little to no historical reference or background, so I'll probably get things wrong. A lot of things wrong. Feel free to point stuff out when you see it if you know it, otherwise let's just say it's part of the ponification.
As the title suggests, this happens in the Holy Roman Empire, the title does not tell you that it happens during the High [actually closer to the late] Medieval period. What exactly that means I couldn't tell you, but through the process of writing this I'll probably end up learning.
This is my first fic and to be perfectly frank I have no idea at where it will go, whether it be pile driven to the dirt after the first chapter, or perhaps manage to eek out a longer life. I daresay the only thing I do know is that the main characters name is "Full Lance". Well, here I go!
Sooo, yeah. That whole thing used to be in the author's note of the first chapter. However I skimmed some bits of Ezn's writing guide and found that Ezn specifically warns against doing this sort of forewarning in an author's note. Thusly, it's now in a blog.
I guess my intent behind writing this preface-y thingy and putting it where everyone would see it was to, well, forewarn people. Alas, I guess it could've been acting more as just a regular warning, making people think, "Nope, not worth my time." Personally, if I read such a preface for critique, I'd be all over the poor artist's work, trying to be as helpfully critical as I could, but uh... that's just me.

Kinda random, but I just realized I've accidentally named one of my characters after one my commentors... Well, my only commentor... er, my only comment, which is to say the only person who has made a comment on my story... You know what, I'm just going to sink back into my closet now.
