G5 Update: New Info from Hasbro · 6:55am Oct 19th, 2020

So, from what I have been keeping up with, it seems there have been some new bits and pieces of info that Hasbro released in Festival of Licensing, and the biggest one for the future of MLP is that G5 is going to include a completely new cast of characters.

What do I think of this change? I have no objection to it; if anything, I feel it will help the show create its own identity, separate from the series we all know quite well. And the thing is... I think it makes sense. The Mane Six, and other major characters from Equestria have already had their stories told. Their era has been over for a year now.
That being said... we may not have seen the last of them, as it turns out. There has been some more recent info on Equestria Daily, which hints that the Mane Six, as well as other major ponies from G1-G3 could be featured in G5 as well. Of course, the focus won't be exclusively on them, but I feel that's okay. If anything, I'm actually curious about the new characters.
As for when the new TV show for G5 will come, we already had something of an answer leaked back in 2019; we got a little less than a year before the second MLP movie is released, which will apparently be the official sendoff of G4, transitioning into G5.
So, in the meantime, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed! Only time will tell if the new series can live up to, or even surpass the show that brought us all together to begin with!
