Feathered Hearts C&C chapter 40 will launch tonight

I apologize for the long delay. The chapter draft was submitted to prereaders a month ago and well-received, but the graphics have taken me a while and several false starts. The main reason is I tried multiple methods to include unit icons in the maps of Aresia, but the end result always seems more cluttered than anything else. Here's an example:

    Without unit icons:

New Midnight Rising chapter off to prereaders...

At long last. This is the redo of the chapter I was forced to scrap in April and then about 80% rewrite. I saved a few select bits and pieces from the original version, but the rest went by the wayside.

Still pecking away on Midnight Rising and Feathered Hearts...

The two Lemon Zest chapters of Midnight Rising have now reached 26,600 words and they’re still nowhere near done, with probably another 5-6k words to go. Gotta treat the girl right, after all, and also make sure there’s plenty of sexy side dishes around her. And as for Feathered Hearts?

    Still working on Midnight Rising...

At the rate of about 800-1000 words a day. That’s my key to getting stuff done that’s causing you issues; just be sure you put at least a little time in on it this day to have some forward momentum. The two chapters are now up to 24,100 words. I’ll work on it more this weekend, at least around continuing work around the maps and battle graphics I’m making for Feathered Hearts.

Did two things this past weekend...

First, I ran 10k for the first time in two months after laying off that long to let my ankle bursitis subside, trying to allow the area to generally heal up. It appears that it worked. To my delight, there was no ankle pain after and I hadn’t even lost much stamina thanks to hitting an elliptical machine twice a week for an hour instead of jogging. My upper legs are another matter, though.

Firefly up to bat... · 6:11pm Aug 19th, 2020

I'm writing for her next, even though she'd find baseball a pointless pastime given pegasi could snag both grounders and fly balls nearly instantly and it would be therefore impossible for an opposing team to get hits.

There are a couple reasons for the shift off Nightmare Night. First, I'm finding my erotic batteries are completely exhausted at the moment. As in, I have no interest in writing or reading it right now. As for the reasons for *that*, well, it's a couple things. First, I'd been a bit too immersed in it for too long--three big main story chapters followed by two shorter side story chapters--so I've burned out on it, and second... I'm overdue for another testosterone boost, which won't happen until next week.

Some of you may be surprised to know that I actually have low testosterone levels (but not *quite* low enough for insurance to pay :twilightangry2:), so every few months I get some pellets of the stuff implanted at my own expense. As they slowly dissolve and release their hormonal magic over the next two months, the effects are rather dramatic for me. Two weeks after the implant, my energy levels surge across the board and I feel like a teenager again, with all it implies. :twilightblush: It isn't just that either; my general motivation levels, including my desire to write, rise as well.

Seriously. Since I've started taking it, I've learned all testosterone actually does for you--turns out that we need it for far more than simple sex drive, folks. And lacking it, we get moody and depressed and unmotivated; don't feel like ourselves--especially if, like we, we've finally tasted what it *should* be. Given the difference it's made for me, and the symptoms it's alleviated, I have to wonder if I had low T levels even reaching back to my time as a teenager.

But, beyond that little aside, The other reason to shift stories is that the three-year anniversary of Into the Storm: The Flight of Firefly is upcoming on September 1st, and I should really put something out for it. We'll see what I come up with; I might write a fresh chapter myself--there's this Blueblood intro scene I really want to do--or try to help DB finish his guest Changeling chapter, which was already well-along. We will see. So please be patient with me as I try to get things moving again here. If nothing else, the story's been stuck at 149 likes for a while and I'd really like to see it get #150.

she can catch easy, but can she swing?

You should write what comes easiest to you and I would certainly enjoy another chapter of Firefly. Edit: I just saw the number of likes is 151 so you've already got that at least.

Sorry to be so late to respond to these, folks.

That too. There aren't many human sports that ponies would actually find challenging, though I've seen in some stories they adopted a version of rugby.

Given how easily she picks up everything else, I'm sure she'd figure out how to hold a bat and use it to knock a fastball out of the park quick enough.

Yes, I was very happy to see that I picked up two new likes from my request, and then three overnight from the first of the two chapter releases! Halfway to 300, I guess, but there's a long way to go.
