    1950s Sci-Fi Review Bundle (Part 2/?)

So, uh, been a hot minute since I followed up on that little 50's movie review thread I started a while back, huh? Guess my narrative writing isn't the only thing that suffers from sloth. Or rather, I've been sluggish and getting around to posting my mini-reviews here, really, I've already had them written

20 Years of "Godzilla 2000" · 5:15pm Aug 18th, 2020

20 years ago today, "Godzilla 2000" was released to American theaters. While not one of the all-time greats, it's a pretty solid film, and one of my personal favorites in the franchise. Godzilla's design, while a bit different from past incarnations, is excellent. The human characters, while simple, are effective and entertaining enough. The alien Orga makes for a great and memorable antagonist, particularly during his last stand. The dubbing is actually quite good and professional sounding, and the upgraded sound design in the American release is excellent. I'd definitely recommend it, especially to people just getting acquainted with the franchise.

I also liked the movie. Mostly because of Orga, but also because of this line:

“Maybe Godzilla lives inside us all.”

To me, those words ring true.

I agree, it does sound weird. XD
Apparently in the original Japanese it's more of a straightforward reminder that Godzilla's destructive power exists in humankind, since he was a creation of/awakened by human weaponry.

I believe the words mean that deep down, everyone has an inner Godzilla that channels our hearts and minds to do either good things or terrible actions. That’s my theory about it, anyway.
