Our Day in Disdain update #1 · 9:07pm Aug 14th, 2020
Late last year, after coming out of a terribly manipulative relationship, I posted Our Day in Disdain. It's a story I've been cooking on the backburner since 2011 and, in order to make myself feel better, I threw it up on Fimfiction to air it out and give myself a much-needed confidence boost. In turn I received a review from someone who nitpicked every single aspect of the story simply because they didn't like the way the story was formatted and because I made the egregious decision to put a gem store in ponyville that was selling gems at a low cost, despite Ponyville being next to a crystal cave that's lousy with gems, thus creating a huge supply with little demand. On their first stop, Pinkie and Maud meet Rarity and Spike as they mine for gemstones in a crystal cave. Rarity explains that she's trying to find rare chartreuse gems for Coloratura's album release party. However, Maud effortlessly finds a vein of chartreuse, remarking that it and all the gems in the cave are fairly common.
Granted, I'll give it to them that the story was poorly formatted because I had just thrown it up with no attention because I needed a quick dopamine fix, and I would've been fine if the review ended at just "this needs a revision and editing pass" but this person had a bone to pick. But that's not what I'm here to talk about.
What I am here to post about is that I have started revision of Our Day in Disdain to bring the story up to the usual Rainb0w standard. As such, the list of changes that have been made are as follows:
Changelog:
- Chapters 2-7 have been removed for revision
- chapter 1 has been revised
- Description has been revised
- Author's note has been moved to Part 1 divider
There are still many things needed to bring part 1 up to snuff, and those listed as follows:

- Draw cover picture
- Draw Part 1 divider image
- Draw chapter 1-7 images
I hope y'all will give chapter 1 a read, and choose to follow the story. I would really appreciate it because this story is very important to me!
