I hope the day is finding you well. As usual, I'll be starting with the current word count for the upcoming sequel. And, as usual, it's absolutely abysmal.
Start of 7/27 Shift Goal: 13,000 words
Actual 7/27 Word Count: 2,798 words (10,203 word deficit)
So, yeah... Looks pretty bad, right? Well, there is a spot of good news. As I implied in update 2.1, the first chapter is actually mostly done. Just another 500 or so words, fill out a scene I hard started up, and it'll be ready for publication. So, don't worry too much about the sad word count. We're a go for Saturday release of Chapter 1. It will likely only be hitting at around the 1800 to 1900 word mark, possibly even a bit less, but Chapters 2 and 3 should be pretty lengthy to make up for it. I'm also going to keep the updates going even after release, going off the same Monday night / Tuesday morning update schedule I have been, just to keep y'all in the loop about how the story is progressing. I really wanted a larger chapter buffer going in to release, but I don't really want to keep everyone waiting. The excitement of readers does tend to help drive me to write even more.
Oh, just a small aside before I say goodbye for the day... Happy 34th Birthday to me. Woo! Now, let's see if I can't finish that scene...
