Take a minute to be kind to someone today, even if that someone is you. We all need a little more kindness, giving and receiving.

I played Goat Simulator · 3:04am Jul 4th, 2020

Things have been rough and I needed to relax a bit. Goat Simulator is a game with no plot, goal, purpose. You load up the game, make a few minor selections, get playing and destroying.

It's really that simple. Run around as a goat and destroy whatever you like. Terrorize the locals, blow up buildings, fall over, fly for a while, steal things. It does have some add-ons that might change things (but probably not), but I don't have those yet. And my potato has enough trouble running the regular game. I don't need to add to that.

One of the great things about this game is that all the glitches and errors were intentionally left in. They're not bugs, they're features. Freaky physics, falling through the world, getting hit by invisible cars.

Now that would be terrible in a game with progression in mind, but with this glorious train wreck of a game it's a bonus.

There's not much to the controls, I use a game pad myself. Move, lick (this goat apparently has a long, stretchy, and sticky tongue. Use this to steal things and kidnap people) jump, headbutt, and depending on the goat you choose (many of these are not actually goats) you get a special that's different for most of them.

The best thing about this game is chaos. You are the bringer of chaos, nothing can stop you, and it is amazing.

As for graphics, I get the generic 3D model generator feeling for most of it, but that gives it the feel of something that was slapped together and ready to be broken for fun. Though I don't want to discount the work that's been put into it, they are actually good. It's fair to say this game wouldn't be as fun without good graphics.

I have this on my phone too, it was only a dollar and though there was much less and the controls were less friendly (though suitable for a mobile device) it was still very fun.

If you're having a bad day and just want to destroy things. Load up Goat Simulator and wreak havoc. If you're in a good mood and want to destroy things, go in and have a laugh.
