Take a minute to be kind to someone today, even if that someone is you. We all need a little more kindness, giving and receiving.

I played three more zombie games · 5:14pm Jun 19th, 2020

Yep, but these are different than most zombie games. They're cute love stories.

I saw her standing there. … But then she was a zombie.

This is a puzzle platform game where you use the arrow keys to move around, telling you the story as you advance.

The art is minimalistic, just barely enough to get the point across. And it's accompanied with some nice guitar music.

One of the interesting mechanics is that you have to avoid this girl you love because she's a zombie and will kill you if you get too close. But you also need to stay close to her to lead her around, the goal being to get her in a cage for both of your protection. Eventually other zombies join in to add to the difficulty but the mechanics don't really change much.

Did I mention this game is cute? When she catches you a little heart appears over her head, if you die any other way the heart breaks. So even as a zombie, she loves you too.

Not to spoil the game, but there's a happy ending where everyone makes pancakes.

I also played I Saw Her Too, With Lasers

A sequel where a lone, and likely mad, scientist sees this Zombie love and decides he wants to study them and, if possible, cure them.

This is a clicking puzzle game, as you push buttons to guide the two zombies together. Creating and removing platforms, walls, using holograms to lure them. Much like the last game the story is dolled out as you play and gives you the mechanics as you play. The music actually changes as you progress so it's not just one song the entire time.

Still a cute game, not as cute as the first one though. But the change in play makes it interesting nonetheless.

I also played I Saw Her Across the World

You're both zombies and this time she's running from you, not because she doesn't like you but because you're playing a game. It's not like there's much else to do. It's worth mentioning that this time it's not necessarily him and her, you choose the pronouns you want used. And you switch between the two characters, not that makes a difference really.

This is a return to the puzzle platformer of the first, but adds a world map. You really do have to search and explore. Sometimes you'll visit a location and nobody will be there and you have to find another location to look for them. There are also enemies you have to jump on, and some you need to avoid as well. Motion is back to arrow keys and selecting is with space bar.

This one is cute, still, I think the best is the first. In any case, all three are worth checking out.

If anyone said they made a cute zombie game I would have laughed, that would be my folly, a lack of faith

Always nice to have my expectations subverted for a positive
