Life of a Wanted Changeling is Officially 6 years old today! As such, have some words from the two writers.
Hey Hive Mind, DWC here!
Surprised to see me outside of the comments huh? I won't blame ya, I haven't exactly been active on the site for awhile now, college can do that to ya I suppose. But I'm not here to talk about that! I'm here to talk about something far, far more meaningful to me then my future in society!
Six years.
It has been roughly six amazing years since the first season of The Life of a Wanted Changeling was published onto this site. Six years of laughs, gasps, fun, feelings, and untold amounts of amazing randomness. In these six years I have written two-and-a-half seasons worth of chapters about an unlucky changeling getting the crap kicked out of him by the world, yet still fights against it to prove that he is a decent person just trying to live his life.
There have been tears, there has been joy, and there has been amazingness the likes I couldn't even put into words throughout these six years.
When I look back to that day back in 2014, when I was just shy a few weeks of getting out of junior high, I can't help but marvel at how much has changed since then. How much I have changed...
There is always a point in everyone's life, multiple points even, when they are faced with a split road. Two different choices that could change their life completely, or just two choices that have no impact whatsoever. Publishing this story, this amazing story that's lasted so long, was one of those roads for me.
It seems so small from an outside view. Just some nerdy kid who enjoys a show but can never talk about it to others posting some silly story on a site full of amazing ones. Not even a 'real' story at that, just a choose your own adventure style tale about some changeling getting the crap beat out of him by everyone. Just some little thing that people from the outside would never notice.
You'd think that this choice in the road would be a small one, insignificant. That it would have no impact...but you'd be wrong.
Then this tiny little fic evolved! More and more people began to read it, to add to it, to enjoy it and feel happy when their ideas are used! Soon that little fic became one of the longest running series on that site, branching four seasons and a community full of wonderful people. Wonderful people who have stuck by this story, a story created not by me but by all of you, through thick and thin because they want to know how it ends!
This story....has changed my life so much. I cannont even imagine what my life would be like if I never published this story, if I went down that other path on the trail. I don't want to image it, as I can proudly say that I never can image what my life would be like without this story...without all of you.Thanks to this story, to all of you, I became such a different person then I was when I first uploaded this fic. I've become someone who can make witty remarks with friends, someone who can think things through and plan out stories at the drop of a hat, someone who isn't afraid to speak his mind when he doesn't agree with what's happening before him.
I've become...I've become someone I can be proud of. A person who, when I see in the mirror, I am proud to say 'this is me!' And it’s all thanks to you wonderful people, to this story, to this community!
I have met so many wonderful people because of this fandom, because of this story. BrownDog, Kersey, Dream Seeker, Erised, GreyRebl, Kichi, Spartan, Puzzling, Minds Eye! These guys, even if some of them aren't around any longer, are some of the most amazing people I've ever met! They are some of the first people to read this story, to give this story a chance, to help make this story what it is today! I can never thank them enough for all they've done, even if I was closer with some more than others.Seriously, if any of you guys are reading this, thank you.
Then there's all you amazing people in the Hive Mind! I mean for one you guys don't mind being called a fandom name in a fandom, but that's just the base level of all your awesomeness! Without all of you we wouldn't have this awesome tale to tell. You all give me and BrownDog inspiration to write with every comment, view, like, and favorite. Thank you all so much for the support!
For my final words, I'd like to say we've made some sort of impact on the community as a whole. Not some big splash like some of the big name fics on the site, but we still did something! What other series do you know that's lasted four seasons on this site! What other series do you know has such a group of amazing people who add and expand the story every day! What other series do you know that's lasted this long is just a Comment Driven Story!
We have made this! We have created this amazing thing! Our impact may be small, or may not even exist at all! But never forget that each and every one of you MADE THIS! You are all amazing people, and never let anyone tell you otherwise! If they do, well...Know I got a temperamental Changeling with Biju powers on speed dial waiting for a chance to kick some ass.
This anniversary letter, which sounds more like an ending of series when I look at it now, has been brought to you by DWC.
And this story, once again, would be nothing without all of you.

Hey Hive-Mind,
Brown Dog here and I can’t top that amount of passion and thankfulness. Down With Chrysalis is the reason we all came together to make this story go forward, and I never can thank him enough for that. He gave me the reigns to this carriage, and for him and for you all, I’ve been steering it towards the finish line, and I can only be humble that you’ve all allowed me to do so.
Six years ago, I had started an interest in D&D, but for a time had no group to play with. I stumbled across a few Comment Driven Stories on Fim Fic which scratched that itch, but none of them ever completed. With LOAWC however, I knew there was a chance to see our hapless changeling to a better end. With these six years of constant writing, I’d like to think it’s helped me become a better player and DM. So in a way, DWC and the Hive-Mind have been one of my first gaming groups, and I’d like to thank you all for rolling the dice with me (even if the dice were just words).
With all that said, in the coming months, let’s get Bugze and Co the happy ending they deserve

Six years?! Wow, time flies. This saga about an unlucky bug is one of, if not THE first stories that helped me realize my love of writing. Though it took a while, the show literally had to end for me to start writing
, I finally got the courage to post a story about a show I love. To DWC, Brown Dog, and everyone else I'd like to thank you for this fun ride! Let's make sure to cause more mayhem for our bug, and give him the happy but most certainly unlucky ending he and his family deserves!
This is by far the most enjoyable story on this site for me. The other people reading and commenting, the story, the characters that I care for, all of that combined is just truly amazing art. I am both anxious and excited for the ending of this long amazing story involving our Changeling his daughter and partner.

LOAWC updates have always been my favourite thing to see in my feed. thank you all for making this happen!
I only just started reading this series close to the end of last year, but just wow. I just instantly loved Bugze and how he tried to be a hero, having it backfire so badly and having the main 6 hate him except fluttershy, then Nightshade cames along and make Bugze fight even harder for his daughter's future to not turn out like his.
It's just so great of a story and I'm sad I didn't find it in its early days.
Spending all my free time reading this story made me enjoy it even more, and having the characters written so well that I get an emotional attachment to them just makes the devastating outcomes just yhat much more impactful.
I Will stay to the bitter end and hope that everything ends happily for everyone, and hope the craziness of all the randomness never ends.
