    A Realization

    THIRDSTRING'S LAW

    Near-future science fiction tends to overestimate technological progress.

    Conversely, far-future science fiction tends to underestimate technological progress.

    Cloudsdale
    0840 hours

    The situation was rapidly turning into a something out of an obscura-fueled nightmare. An angry mob of flying horses were carrying Macer up a flight of white marble steps, spitting out paranoid slogans and chants with zeal that would make a Redemptionist jealous.

    Finally some progress

    The next installment of Friendship is Sanctioned is in the rough draft stage--now it's just a matter of polishing things up while I consult my trusty editor slave friend. It's currently at over 7,000 words, making it firmly the longest chapter yet. Hopefully this will make up for some of the long wait.

    ALL THIS PAIN AND DEVASTATION

    My basic thoughts on EqG, reposted from Equestria Daily. This is the essence of what I have to say on that subject.

    One of the biggest gripes I have about all this has to do with the movie's premise, as it relates to what they aimed to do with this movie.

++INCOMING TRANSMISSION++

++CLEARANCE CONFIRMED++

Greetings, loyal servants of the Inquisition. This is Magos Tringathar, transmitting from the wreckage of the Herald of Terra. As per the request of Watch Commander Metallus, I have compiled a report on the creatures endemic to the warp world of Graneus Prime.

So far, my studies have led me to the conclusion that these beasts are largely similar to the animals of pre-Imperial Terra, save for peculiar differences such as enlarged eyes and heightened levels of anthropomorphism. Ultimately, however, there are far more similarities than differences. This could be attributed to convergent evolution, but there is an alternative hypothesis: that these creatures were transplanted from Terra. This has been bolstered by the discovery of a civilization of primitive but sentient equinoids. Early observational data suggests that the culture of these aliens shares many bizarre parallels with early human civilizations. I realize that this comparison may upset those of a more puritan disposition, but I assure you that my conclusions are the fruit of a mind ever faithful to the Omnissiah.

I have attached a preliminary report evaluating the physical characteristics of the equinoids, who are apparently divided into three subspecies. There are rumors of fourth subspecies, but unfortunately little data is available on them at this time. Forgive also the incomplete nature of these descriptions: when I requested a biopsy specimen from Inquisitor Valesius, he responded by glaring at me contemptuously.
