A bag of plums

Plums in a bag and complexity addict. Chances are there's more to what you're reading than meets the eye.

    Another Milestone

As of today, The Chrysalis Letters is finished! I want to thank all of my readers for stopping to take a look at my work. Each upvote and comment left there makes my day, and I'm happy to be part of this community. I hope you'll all stay for what comes after this and my other stories.
    Cheers!

    Another Milestone

Just recently, Age of Kings reached its 100th chapter. The story is more than halfway done, and I would like to thank everyone who stopped by to give it a read for doing so. You all are great, and I hope you will continue to stay and see how it all ends!

    New Story

Some of you may have noticed that I have a new story out. It is called To Be Great and Powerful, and stars none other than the Equestria Girls Trixie Lulamoon in an adventure in an alternate universe. This story isn't connected to the Bloodlines Continuity, so you don't have to read any of them to enjoy this new story to the fullest.

    A Milestone

As of now, the Bloodlines story Servant of the Queen has reached 100 chapters. I think that's worth noting, but we couldn't have made it this far without all the people reading and commenting on the story. So thanks! :twilightblush:

A Quick Question · 4:32pm Mar 11th, 2020

First, I'd like to thank everyone who left an upvote or a comment, regardless of which of my stories you did it on.
Now that I've addressed that, I have a question. I do consider my first ever story, Leap of Faith, a success. Many people commented on it and it got a lot of upvotes. I couldn't be happier about it and it's because of my readers.
So that leaves me with the question: What am I doing wrong that is stopping people from reading and commenting on the rest of my work? What made Leap of Faith such a one-hit wonder that I'm not applying to the rest of my work? I don't want to sound like I'm whining, but I really want to know how I can attract more people into reading my stuff. What did I do with Leap of Faith that made it so popular and how can I apply it to the rest of my stories?
Post your answers below, if you think you know. Thanks.

Well. For some reason, most of your other followers, IE midnight sonata and N0Pony, are banned, or dead accounts. I think. Also, Assassin's Creed. Just, Assassin's Creed. You somehow rode popularity. You appealed to a massive audience of AC fans. Most others are less appealing fanbase-wise.

But that's just my theory.

I honestly need to get back into reading your stories. I went inactive a bit before you finished Leap of Faith, and when I came back to FiMFiction I kept neglecting to read it that now I'm really far behind. I might actually need to reread it before I can finish it and catch up. Maybe some of your other followers were like me in that regard? I haven't gotten to read the other stories yet, so I don't know if something did change or not, but I remember when I first saw Leap of Faith FiMFiction was a lot more...I don't wanna say active, but there definitely were a lot more people that fit into a lot of niches. For how wonderful it is that the Brony community continues to endure, we lost people throughout the years for one reason or another...and while I've seen newer Bronies that are willing to give series both old and new a shot, there's so much content out there that unless your name and story is actively being spoken about/advertised, it will probably be a while until they come upon gems like Leap of Faith and the Bloodlines continuity.

I also find that people don't really seem keen to leave good votes anymore. I don't know if that's because they're not logged in or if they're stingy with voting, but it's very strange to see fics with hundreds and even thousands of views that don't have even a quarter of the amount of views' worth in upvotes. I normally give upvotes unless a story either has too many errors for me to tolerate or the writing treads the line of what I find acceptable. Comments, on the other hand...I can understand why people might remain quiet. Perhaps there's nothing to add that hasn't already been said, or you're so late to the chapter/story that it'd feel awkward to say anything. I'd probably submit more comments to the stories I read, but they usually have big chapters and either I forget the things I want to say or I'm already reading the next chapter cause I'm behind.

I'm currently reading through a very long Kingdom Hearts fic, but if I decide to take a break from it in the near-future I'll make catching up in the Bloodlines continuity a priority! It's been a long time coming...better several years late than never, right? :twilightsheepish:

I've liked most of your stories (not so sure about the one with Chrysalis' daughter, but I just don't comment on here much period, mostly because I read on my phone, which makes writing comments cumbersome, Fimfiction doesn't treat them like 2nd class citizens per se, but they aren't 1st class either.

To sum it up, keep up the great work, I read, I'm just, to quote GLaDOS, "A dangerous mute lunatic".

Thanks for all your input! You've given me a lot to think about. I hope you will continue to read the stories in the Bloodlines continuity and enjoy them~

i am a fickle person. I am also uncaring of authors (i often spock actors too). When people ask me my favorite music genre i reply with an age old lie as it is tiring to explain that i don't have one. I listen to songs in a wide spectrum. If you're lucky i might be able to provide a name of the band. Some have jumped on this thinking i am a fan and get crushed (or angry) when they realize the name is all i know. Unless its a pretty girl band i am unlikely to have even seen the people who had made the music i listen too. I often by an entire CD to rip one song to listen too and sometimes I'll find another song i like in it.

I am here for one story and one story only. Until this day you, "A bag of plums", was unknown to me. Until this day i had not ever even looked at your stories (or blog, which i am serfing for a lead on an update schedule. Darn). Anyways nothing pops out at me and Equestria Girls fics tend to be boring to me. The thought of getting a new take on Chrysalis is what brought me here and i am loving the characterization so far.

My viewpoint won't be a standard but perhaps a new bit of light. I will enjoy reading more.

Thank you for your honesty, I don't seem to get that much these days. I hope you enjoy what you came looking here for, and I do read any and all comments.

i don't give out as much as I used to. People seem more jumpy of those with differing opinions these days.
