FotR Chapter 21 Progress Update · 10:31am Feb 26th, 2020
I've decided that since good progress has been made on Crashing Angels, I would try something else.
My one shots, I struggled with, so I went back and found it easier to keep writing more cute fillies for a bit.
I tried Our Daughter and cleaned up the half chapter I have written.
Then today I opened Fall of the Rising and had a blast writing. It's a challenging story, managing so many different characters, plot lines and devious plans. But it's fun.
We got some upcoming Flutterdash (with hints at future family), some Shining Armor and Cadence. Then Twilight and Luna fumble around together as Twilight tries, perhaps a bit too hard to help. I'm tempted to add a bit more Celestia to the mix, but if I don't and chapter 22 continues to shape up as it is, I'll have me a final chapter 21.
I have to work loosely on more than one chapter at once with this story as events get shifted around a bit to best match the flow of the story and keep the pace. Plus I need to make sure I don't miss anything important and often I'm finding everything said or done either is important information to the story or has a knock on effect and keeps the ball rolling. Its quite diffrent to the rather more relaxed style of Crashing Angels.
Anyway, since chapter 22 is coming together nicely and 21 has seen a near final revision tonight, I think I'm pretty happy.
So...
All going well, I hope to have the chapter up later this week. Work has been fairly light with a bit of prep for a short film this weekend but otherwise, I'm pretty relaxed.
Oh and I found this...
isn't' is precious? I'm thinking there will have to be a scene later in Crashing Angels to feature it.
