I'm still alive, not making as much progress on things as I had hoped. I'm sorry I vanished and I know a lot of people were waiting for an update to ER251. Is anyone still around?

The basic bottom line is that I got really busy for a few months; purchased and moved into a new home, holidays, promoted at work, and having a rough time in with getting my master's degree in nursing. If you want to hear more details I can go into it, but in general, I think people don't care that much. I mean that in a polite way.

I'm still here and I'm still interested in writing pony words. I know some people have moved on and I'll be honest, I really thought that the fandom was going to die when the last season came out, especially this place. But I've been checking the numbers frequently and there are still an incredible amount of people coming onto the site, logging in and continuing the fandom. It's not as high as it was in 2012 and 2013, but it didn't tank into the dirt like I thought it would. I'm really grateful for that, this fandom has done a tremendous amount for me and I love my membership in it. I want to still be a part of it and I'm looking forward to the Gen5 MLP (I heard that they backtracked the trailer and are redesigning the characters/art).

I'm in a place now with life where I am working on my stories, and also looking into getting back into art. So let me give you a brief update on where my projects are at, story-wise.

Empress Rarity's 251st Birthday: Honestly, the damn thing nearly burned me out. I haven't heard from Autumnschild since October. I know he's doing a lot with his work. As for the story writing, I had to put it on the backburner. It's a fun fascinating story, it was going to be a great epic tale, full of worldbuilding and mystery, and just a fun read. I have no plans to halt it. But it's going to be slow going. the problem I am having is getting the flow going correctly and even though I hate to admit it, I may have made too many moving parts in it.

Other projects: I'm not ready yet to announce the other stories that I've been written on. I can tell you that one involves an AU where Daybreaker rules Equestria and is going to be a sort of "spiritual successor" to one of the first stories that got me into the fandom, Night's Favoured Child. I loved the depth and the creativity of the story, but it... yeah, never finished.

The other one is another AU that is a western/steampunk themed story but with Anthro ponies. I think this one will maintain more of a teen rating, so will the other one. It's going to be a massive retelling of Equestria were the primary deviation (besides anthro) is going to be focused on Celestia and Luna both being banished via the Elements of Harmony. I'm nervous about it because anthro stories care a certain negative mark on them, most are porn-related. This is going to be an epic adventure, kinda like Bulletproof Heart, but without as thick of chapters? I dunno, I loved the hell out of Bulletproof Heart but is a thick challenge.

I'm nervous getting these projects out, part of me really doesn't want to anymore. But I don't want self-doubt to stop me from doing the things that I love to do. That's happened one too many times in my life.

So that is what I am working on, aside from art skills. Art, I stepped back from learning how to draw the ponies and I am trying to get my skills back. Bought a new tablet for that, and a new DA account because I couldn't remember my last account info.
