Oh boy... this isn't an easy one.
We all know this story, we all adore this story, and we will remember this story however we like.
Not sure how I like to remember it myself. Perhaps one day I may revisit the story without the Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls elements, but that is a long ways off.
So... anyway, as indicated by the title, I am officially marking the story as cancelled. Even though I think discontinued is far more accurate.
I've kept it marked incomplete because cancelled never sat right with me. Now, I think it'd be best to put it to rest. New readers keep popping up and expect more chapters, old readers rediscover it and wonder what the go is. I hate the cancelled tag, but it is the best we got.
Not the best news to start the year with. That said, despite bidding Nyx and the Sunset a bitter farewell, I wish you all a happy new year.

Because I don't intend to come back to this story. Nyx and the Sunset is done, it's run its course. When I realised this story needed fixing (which it does), I was committed to rewriting, but that took too long. There's no point now. I have no passion nor drive to keep going, and so it is here that I officially discontinue the story.
