I've been putting some heavy thought into the specific natures of the Elements of Debauchery. What the previous writer had was fine for his shorter story, but now I'm stuck with things with which I'm not too sure how to use.
The lore explanation is that they mirror the Elements of Friendship in embodying core components of being a good friend, but by embodying the power and components of sexuality. Arousal(AJ) and Orgasm(Twilight) are the only two that really make sense in this context, with Domination(Rainbow) kind of a close third. The rest are just uncommon fetishes, and BDSM(Rarity) is frustratingly redundant given that there's already domination.
So far I've been dealing with this by dropping hints connecting the six to their canon counterparts, such as Rainbow loyally looking after Gilda. There's plenty of room for an ongoing story line in something like that, but what do I do with Pinkie and Food Fetish? That's not even a very popular fetish and just feels like its not thematically suitable. And thus far, Fluttershy's Beastality has kind of manifested as just another form of domination. I'm just not too sure what to do with these characters that also maintains the established themes.
And yeah, a lot of you are probably wondering why this sort of thing is even needed in a story that should be straight clop. Well, that's because its kind of evolved beyond that. Clop is still a heavy element, but I've been playing around with the ideas present and there's a surprising amount to work with. It's like how a lot of people like how Spike is being characterized or how Gilda was handled much more maturely than in the show. This is just how I write.
Also, I'm currently playing with the idea of Pinkie getting Mrs. Cake double knocked up, becoming a baby daddy (an in-universe term) to the twins, and that will account for their super abilities in Baby Cakes.
I just need someone to bounce ideas off of so that I can figure out either what needs changing, or how to work with what's already established.
Flow of thought answer time.
Food play and bestiality are basically kinks that have no greater meaning. In order to hearken back to their main characterizations, Fluttershy would probably have more to do with aftercare. As far as bestiality goes, her affinity for those who are weak might have something to do with it. She is likely one of the few around who would be conscientious enough to consider the sexual needs of those who cannot speak. But as before, bestiality is a kink, not a critical component of a healthy sexual relationship.
BDSM too is a kink, but it is a broad field of kinks rather than a singleton such as bestiality, and is also not a critical component of a healthy sexual relationship. A good bdsm relationship relies greatly on foreplay and aftercare.
But then, the first story was about the kinks, not high philosophy on sex. If basic components such as arousal and orgasm are considered critical components of a sexual relationship, then the other elements need to be just as basic, such as masturbation, aftercare, and foreplay. Another important element is of coarse, sex-appeal, or attractiveness.
To me, Rarity's temperament when a mistress would be more focused on the foreplay. Release is almost beside the point with enough build-up. However, that doesn't really relate much to generosity. It would be more in line for her to be open-minded regarding other's kinks; being willing to participate in kinks for other's sake even when she isn't fond of the kink in question. She would also be emblematic of sex-appeal and attractiveness.
As for Pinkie, she has always been an experimental type. And a good sexual relationship needs to be shaken up periodically, so her food-play would be more representative of a general affinity for sexual experimentation. And the most important part of experimentation is that all partners enjoy the experience, so it falls right in line with her canon value of making everybody happy. Extensive psychological study and planning beforehand is something she is already characterized as doing in many stories for her parties.
So, I had to wrack my brain, for ideas and I got to thinking how would the original Elements might translate as applied to sex and friendship? I have some alternative ideas, as I was failing to see how arousal or orgasms would be applied to friendship.
AJ - Honesty - Arousal - Sexual Openness - Exhibitionism
So, Applejack, Bearer of the Element of Honesty. How would Honesty translate to sex and friendship and I thought that Sexual Openness and Exhibitionism was the answer. Sexual openness in expanding and discovering sexual proclivities in her partners and accepting those sexual proclivities and fetishes, even if they never become a turn-on for her. Exhibitionism as it is Sexual Honesty, not hiding the truth, however beautiful or ugly in the eyes of those who look upon the naked body.
Twilight - Magic - Orgasm - Sexual Acceptance - Perversion
Twilight is the Bearer of Magic, which is the central pillar of friendship. Thus I thought how would Magic translate relevant to sex while still staying true to its aspect of friendship. Thus I thought sexual acceptance made sense. Because the antonym of acceptance is alienation which is contrary to what friendship is all about. Therefore no matter how fetishy or contrary to normal cultural sensibilities, sexual acceptance will accept those with those fetishes, even if they may not enjoy those fetishes themselves. Thus the aspect of Perversion would be perfect for her as it would act as a morally corrupting act, acting as a carrot to make one investigate into a fetish in order to determine if they enjoy that fetish for themselves and would help her forge bonds and friendships with others.
Rainbow Dash - Loyalty - Domination - Sexual Leadership - Intimacy
Rainbow Dash is the Bearer of Loyalty. How might Loyalty translate with regards to sex and friendship. While Sexual leadership may have expression of Domination and may include domination elements during sex, it isn't exclusive to it. It's more like sexual mentorship, really, in showing/mentoring another into whatever fetish is being explored and showing that enjoying it is okay and how to be safe when exploring whichever fetish is being explored. That being said, I am of the opinion that Loyalty would best translate into intimacy when it comes to sexual translation of frienship into sex. Because when you're intimate, your focus is zeroed in on whomever it is that the intimacy is being enacted upon. They are the most important thing to you in that moment. It seeks to strengthen their bond and reassure the partner that they're still desirable.
Pinkie Pie - Laughter - Sexual enjoyment - Sex play
The next thing I thought on was how would Pinkie Pie's Element of Laughter translate into a sexual expression and one thought was sexual joy. To do something because it is fun and because it makes your partner feel good. Because Pinkie Pie as she is as the Bearer of Laughter, is all about helping others to smile and enjoy their life. Sex Play would be the best expression for her, because there are so many manifestations in how it can be expressed. The core focus however, is ensuring that the partner is enjoying themselves while the sexual playtime is active. She'll be the one with the most sex toys, and sexy costumes for sexy cosplay/costume roleplay, which would include gear for Domination and Submission plays as well as the appropriate props for restraint and punishment.
Rarity - Generosity - Sexual Adaptation - Promiscuity
How might Rarity's Element of Generosity translate sexually? I got to thinking about this, and thought that sexual adaptation would be most appropriate. What I mean by this is she's going to be the quickest to be inclusive of others of either sexual orientations which she may either privately not see the appeal, or understand, but will endeavor to create an environment of inclusion and acceptance, a sexual sanctuary, if you will, where her partner can feel free to communicate their frustrations, fears, their desires and dreams. She's going to be flexible in that if her partner wants to do something, then she'll participate in it so long as nothing permanent or life-altering is performed without prior consent, i.e. proper communication. She's going to want to help her partner to feel that it is okay to like something or have a particular fetish or turn-on, or even sexual orientation. I see this as translating into promiscuity as not only would she be able to attract other by wearing sexy clothes and undergarments, but she would be flexible in how many she is willing to share her body and herself with. If you want one-on-one intimacy, she would be willing to do that, but if you want a gangbang/orgy then she's extremely excited to participate in those as well.
Fluttershy - Kindness - Sexual Healing/Tenderness/Gentleness - Sex Nurse
Fluttershy's Element of Kindness really caused me to wrack my brain on how Kindness would translate sexually. Then I thought of Sexual Healing/Tenderness/Gentleness.
This would be perfect as if her partner is sexually exhausted then she can and will set her own desires aside for the comfort of her partner. It might be gently massaging a healing lotion or salve into a penis or pussy that's been rubbed raw and is sore and achy. It might be giving a slow, gentle blowjob or cunnilingus. It might even express itself in tender caresses, gentle gropes and relaxing kisses.
That is why I thought of Sex Nurse as perfect for Fluttershy as it both meets her Element of Kindness and her natural proclivity toward nurturance and hospice care. But she's not going to deny her own desires in wanting sexual climax and is willing and able to become a dominant partner to a submissive one if one or both desires it so. Otherwise she will likely seek out one of her other friends to help her work out whatever frustrations or desire for climax may bring.
Thus it is how I gave much thought on how each particular Element of Harmony might express itself if sexual expression became the primary focus, rather than the current manifestation as they are now as the Elements of Harmony.

I love this. Foreplay, Aftercare, and Experimentation are terrific alternatives. And I already have an idea of how to implement these changes. Basically, Molestia is a mad genius, with an emphasis on the mad. I've written her to be a lot more flawed and less picturesque than Celestia. She's prone to a lot of mistakes, and so misidentified the nature of the Elements. Thank you for your ideas.
That said, would you like to be an editor for this story? The job entails going to a GoogleDoc and looking at chapters weeks or even months before they're published and give me feedback.

Ooh! I likes! I was honestly content with leaving AJ and Twilight as they were, but these are some intriguing alternatives. And everything fits rather neatly with what's already been written. As I responded to Herrzog, I think I'll justify this retcon by saying that Molestia is a mad genius who misidentified the nature of the Elements. As ever, your brilliance never fails to impress.

Probably because you saw such an image in someone else's art before. And I don't blame you, because it's a terrific image that compels imitation.
