Increasingly out-of-date document thingy
is the doc ever getting updated?its really behind
that chapter was in June 2018, just sayin’
As I’m sure a select few of you know, Symphicdysonince has the lovely story Equestrian Eeveelution. For those who don’t know, it’s about a group of displaced humans transformed into a pack of Eevee. One for each evolution and a spare. A few years ago, when this was just getting warmed up I decided to compile some info on the characters because, there being nine of them, I was getting them mixed up with one another.
Then I decided to compile some theories people had in the comments on who would become what, what clues there were, what we knew about some and not others, and miscellaneous fic info. And to be nice, I shared it with the creator, and also with the readers. I even got another person to contribute a timeline more detailed than anything I could have done.
And then my computer died, and I was stuck on mobile, which is a pain to format in (I don’t even have a tab key! My precious indenting!) and a few (dozen) people want me to quit dragging my feet! The story has moved on, my info isn’t current!
To that I say a few things.
1. I’m working on it. It’s a lot of people to keep track of and you don’t want to think, fine. I guess I’ll think for you.
2. I do this because I want to. If I don’t want to, I don’t do it. You don’t like it? Go make your own thing from scratch. You read every chapter twice, Comb the comments for input and then read the story again. And again. There were times I analyzed every interaction with a particular character to see how big and how many hints we got, how much foreshadowing.
2.5 just to make really sure my info is as complete as it can be, I’m going back to the beginning and reading it all again. This is my seventh time I believe. So thanks for that.
3. In 2018 i bought a house and had a second kid. I moved from third shift which gave me an extra hour of time in the morning when I got home, to first shift where I did not have that time. So that’s a house to maintain as well. Indoor and outdoor work.
4. Did you pick up that I have two kids? They’re both under four and are high-energy rough-and-tumble boys. I am busy and tired at the end of the day. I don’t necessarily want to work on something and over analyze every chapter when I want to do something mindless and decompress before I have to do it all over again. I’m free to do what I want from 9PM to 10:30PM when I try to go to sleep, that’s not a lot of “me” time, and I don’t necessarily want to spend my last hour on this when there’s other things to do.
5. I am trying to write my own side-story for this, which I feel takes priority, and is easier to work on in 15 minute bursts during my lunch at work.
6. Over time, the volume of work to catch up on became more daunting and off-putting.
I’ve had enough of people complaining on it that I’m working on it instead of other things. Congratulations. I have a broken garage door from the cold, a mountain of laundry to work on, housework, my mailbox was taken out by a snowplow, and I have two boys to play with and put to bed.
But I guess I’ll be doing this for the foreseeable future because you’re “just sayin’”.
Heh... Sorry. Didn’t know all of this was going on on your end. Sorry for bugging you about it. Keep up the good work, but don’t strain yourself.

In fairness, point 2.5 is going to mostly be skimming until I’m caught up to where to Doc is. And I’ve updated a bit of it already. Mostly the Verse stories, the chapter list... re-reading the old stuff is largely to make sure the move list is right.
