Alicorn magic

So I have been thinking lately, and I decided to write my thoughts down here and see what everypony else thought of them. Now please don't be upset if I get something wrong or if there is a comic or episode of the show that disproves my theories, I haven't read any of the comics and have barely watched the show itself.

Now in the season 4 premiere when Twilight used dark magic on Zecora's potion so she could see why the vines were attacking and why Celestia and Luna were missing, probably everyone was shocked. We were thinking things like "So dark magic is alicorn magic?" Or maybe "What does that say about how powerful Sombra was if the dark magic he uses us alicorn magic?" At least, that's what I was thinking, but then I thought about it more recently. I realized that one, what Zecora may have meant by "alicorn magic" could have just been any magic being used by an alicorn. And second, is alicorn magic truly a thing? Everypony seems to think Celestia and Luna should be much more OP than they are shown as in the show, I mean, they can move the FREAKING SUN AND MOON!! But I think that, while it is no doubt quite a feat, I think their cutie marks have a large role to play in doing it. There cutie marks say that it is their destiny to raise and lower the sun and moon. Think about it, if a ponies cutie mark is to bake, then baking is really easy for them, and they will likely be naturally as good as a pony who have been practicing baking for a year or two, if not better. The same logic dictates that for Celestia and Luna, moving the sun and moon comes as naturally to them as leading and sending others to fight for them ;) But in all seriousness, it is their special talents to do these things, so in theory, any unicorn with the same cutie marks could potentially do it. Of course, that's not to say they aren't powerful, because special talent or not, they still need some sort of advantage to do it that only alicorns have. And what is that you may ask? A larger mana pool, knowledge that comes with living far longer than any other pony unless you count Sombra, Starswirl and a few others, and there magic is generally stronger than that of a normal unicorn. But this does not mean that they have magic only alicorns have. They are a combination of the three pony races, and earth ponies strength and durability, a pegasi's speed and wings, and a unicorns magical ability. Sure they are far stronger than any unicorn when it comes to magical ability, but I think that is largely because they have a larger magic reserve, and and stronger in general. What I mean by this is that while a unicorn could levitate something large like say a small shack if there are strong enough, an alicorn could potentially lift large full sized building with relative ease. They ARE stronger than any normal unicorn by all rights, but they aren't the godlike beings they are sometimes thought to be, because while it may still be relatively easy to move the sun and moon for them, they still have the advantage of being naturally attuned to moving them. And as for Celestia moving both for a thousand years while Luna was banished, whose to say Luna wasn't helping her sister a little from her prison? While Nightmare Moon wanted to bring eternal night, Luna was trapped inside her regretting her decisions, and maybe she was able to help her sister lower the moon from the cage her own body had become which was in turn in prisoned. And who know? Maybe the Elements of Harmony weakened Nightmare Moon enough to allow Luna to do this, plus don't forget that not all of Nightmare Moon's magic went with her since it stayed behind and became the Pony of Shadows. In conclusion, alicorn magic is technically just very powerful unicorn magic that has been glorified and sold off as OP and unbeatable. But as we see time and time again, Celestia and Luna are useless and underwhelming. Heck, even before the show, they had to really on the Elements of Harmony to defeat every major villain except for Tirek, and even then they got help from Tirek's brother Scorpan and even then they didn't truly defeated him, only imprisoned him. In fact, that is what they did to every villain they fought. Also, when we see Nightmare Moon and Celestia fight in the season 4 premiere, we see normal magic being used, and yet when Celestia gets hit with a blast of magic, she is clearly hurt badly by this (though she quickly recovers). If these blasts were powerful enough to hurt a supposedly godlike being, they should have done much more damage to the castle whenever they struck it, not just takes chunks out of it.
