The Witch of Canterlot · 10:20pm Aug 5th, 2019
It's been a long time since I started working on The Witch of Canterlot. Years, actually. It was only earlier this year that I finally had the spark of inspiration that really hit me with the way to move forward with it. I plan on going into more detail in individual chapter author's notes in the story itself, but I was never happy with the original plan I had for the story, which was more of a straightforward story that stuck too closely to canon. I needed to get away from that - the weakest part of Witch of the Everfree was always the tie-in to canon events.
What better way to get away from that than setting the story somewhere completely different?
In The Witch of Canterlot Sunset Shimmer travels to the far-off land of Saddle Arabia, though her reputation got there first. What she finds are problems she can't solve with a blast of magical fire and a clever quip. She was trying to get out of politics, but she just keeps getting dragged back in...
I plan on updating weekly, and hopefully my writing will outpace my posting. Going live with a story is the best kind of motivation!
As always, thank you to everyone who cares enough to read. This fandom means a lot to me and the last nine years have been amazing. I've still got a few good stories in me, and I want to try and get them out before the grand finale!
IT'S HERE!
IT'S FINALLY HERE!
HUZZAH!
THE FUN HATH BEEN DOUBLED!
Thanks for the blog, because I didn't see the notice for it being posted.
Man I had given up on this years ago. But I ain't gonna complain.
The hype is real! I had given up hope for this, and I can't wait to see what happens with it. Witch of the Everfree has always been one off my favorite Sunset stories, and I'm really looking forward to the sequel.
Also, like KMCA, I never got any notification that the sequel was posted besides this blog, so it's a good thing you posted this.
ooh! exciting! :D
Oh God YES
Nice! Though I have a hard time believing there are problems that can’t be solved with enough explosive force
I'm still working my way through a backlog from Bronycon, but this story is going on the list (as this blog post had been :))!
Oh, and congratulations on hitting the feature box!
