Well, what can I say about Rainbow Roadtrip, besides 10/10 would watch again.
That was without a doubt one of the best pony episodes I've seen in a good long while. I have to admit, I never really liked a lot of the finales, and the way they centred on defeating some ancient evil. I don't watch pony for that; I watch it to feel good, and for 22 minutes each week, I can see how to be a bit of a better person. That may sound corny as all hell, but I do try to take all those friendship lessons to heart.
And this one off special had it in spades. A great story, a moral that I think a lot of us in this modern world can identify with, and some of the best songs so far. Seriously, 'At the End of the Rainbow' made me cry like an absolute baby. We had some great characters, and some pretty interesting lore too. Without spoiling anything, it certainly put the whole notion of ponies being 'Discorded' back in Season 2 in a new light.
It certainly shows that, even after all this time, we still get some great stories out of MLP. But it also had quite a good message for all of us in a way.
A lot of people have been saying that when the shows ends, the fandom may die off pretty quickly if G5 doesn't cut the mustard. Well, I think we should all take the lesson of the Rainbow Festival to heart; don't lose touch. We've all made friends in this fandom, and in our normal lives. But it's so easy to just stop talking to people. Whatever happens afterwards, I'd hate to see a lot of the friendships I've seen on here just die off.
Anyway, that's what I thought of. Certainly worth a re-watch. Now we just have to sit back and wait for the second half of Season 9. In the meantime, expect weekly updates for my latest story.
