I realized it's been over a year since this fic's been updated. There are a number of reasons, many of them being other projects.
But the main reason is after seeing comments on the last chapter...I have a feeling people are going to hate how this is going to end. But the more I think about it, it's they way I WANT it to end. Maybe it wasn't originally, but the more I've gotten to know Prism, Gem and the Tri-Pies, the more my ideas for them have developed. They're not the same fillies they were when I started this fic. So...even if a lot of people are going to be mad, I'm not changing my plans for the last few chapters.
Secondly, with the final BronyCon coming up I have so much video-editing work to get done, including the animatics taking place in the "Daughter of Discord" universe. One of them will be significant in the last few chapters of "CMC," which is another reason I've put this off. After BronyCon in August, we'll see where my creative bug goes.
I'm really sorry this fic has taken so long. Ending it has just become a dread.
Well, however the story ends in the end you are the narrator and it is entirely your decision. Not to mention, life has a way of keeping people busy and even if folks don't like that this is going to end, maybe not in the way they wanted it or perhaps the same way they feel when the FIM show itself ends, the truth is the 'end' is inevitable. We know you are going to go on to do bigger, grander things and at the end of the day it's all about leaving your fans with a story they'll remember but not because that's just what 'they' wanted but what 'you' want as an artist.
So whatever happens, I wish you the best of luck.
Obviously, I'm not sure what you have planned for the rest of this fic, but you likely have a valid reason for feeling this way. As readers, all we can do is speculate on how things will develop as a story is progressing and being updated; that is very much a hit-or-miss endeavor. For instance, some things I could see coming, such as Raspberry Pie being the first of the triplets to have a boyfriend.
I can say, though, that since I started reading this fic sometime late 2016, many developments have occurred that I would never have seen coming. I would not have expected for Raspberry Pie to be the first to get her cutie mark (though I probably should have after reading your note on the chapter). Likely influenced by developments in the show, I mostly expected them all to get their cutie marks at the same time; if not that, I figured Blueberry would get hers first since she seemed to be the most sure of things to me. Similarly, at some point, I didn't expect that Kicks would not only eventually become Prism's friend but also her boyfriend (as things currently stand). In each of these instances, while what was expected did not come to pass, what you had put out and given to us as the author was even better.
While, again, I have no idea what you have planned, I am looking forward to seeing how things develop from where the story left off and am glad that you have chosen to remain steadfast in your original plan for the fic's final chapters.
In all honesty, I'm just following to see what happens. It's like Eragon, the characters go where they do.

I love your alternative adventures of the power ponies! And I know you probably get this question a lot, and i’m Sorry for asking but, when or will you continue you writing it? It’s my favorite story after bride of discord of course:) Thank you for being an amazing writer.

Would like to know the outcome of the story. If it goes in a different direction, that is fine. Most stories do that.
I'll be fine as long as it ends
There's no problem. The important thing is that you finish your stories as you wish. The good writers don't write to please readers, but to create works born from their unique mind and heart. And if you need even a decade to complete them, we'll wait patiently😌.
It’s been a few years since this post was posted and the final chapter was in 2018. DF has finished her Daughter Of Discord short animatics so I wondered what’s going on with the Fanfiction? Has it been cancelled? Delayed indefinitely? In limbo? I really want to know how this story ends and what Prism,Blueberry Pie,Cherry Pie,and Gemstone’s cutie marks would be like. We also want to know what happened to Flutterby Lily. Was Flutterby retconned?
If DF does indeed want to cancel the Fanfiction story then we should just accept her decision cause it’s probably too much for her to handle.
But if she does end up finishing it at some point ,we should accept the ending wether we like the ending or not.
We just hope the story concludes one day when DF isn’t so busy.
DF,you’re an amazing author and we hope to see CMC:The Next Generation conclude one day in the near future.
