“Haven’t you found anythin yet?” Grumbled Applejack.
“I’ve told you a million times, I’m working on it!” Snapped Pixel as she adjusted her wireless headset while Applejack continued to blabber on in her ear.
“Aren’t you supposed to be an expert on this kind of thing?” Countered Applejack.
“Yes, but that’s not the point!” Pixel messaged her temples as Applejack barraged her with more pointless questions.
“This guy is something else, it’s like he came out of thin air. I can’t find him anywhere. He has no paper trail and no social media accounts. Zip, he is 100% off the grid.”
“What?”
“See I told you this was a tough case...I'm going to have to go even deeper. I will contact you if I find anything concrete; cause at the moment I’m stumped.”
Pixel ended the call with a swift click on the side of her headphones. Feeling frustrated she flipped through her notebook she only had a few notes scribbled down.
“Rarity Bell…” Feeling curious Pixel looked up Rarity’s name. Not surprising she found a handful of social media pages in Rarity’s name. After clicking on a few links Pixel started to get bored. She was about to click off until something caught her eye.
“Hello, what is this?” Muttered Pixel. The headline of the page was about an amateur special effects contest. It turned out that Rarity was the winner of the Canterlot Fantasy Competition.
“Well that was unexpected, looks like Miss. Fancy is a bit more interesting than I thought. What else are Apple Tart’s friends hiding?”
Pixel made a quick note of her findings on Rarity before moving on to her next target. Sunset was already investigated there is a gap in a paper trail and not much else. Fluttershy is just a quite girl that keeps to herself. She does volunteer work at a handful of animal rescues and the local zoo. And has a small online presence.
“Ugh, next...How about Rainbow Dash?”
Pixel found a few articles of Rainbow’s sporting achievements from over the years. Nothing too interesting there Pixel clicked on one of Rainbow’s social media accounts. She was stunned when she saw a picture of Rainbow’s father.
“Her dad is the assistant coach of the Canterlot Broncos. They are one of the best football teams at the moment!”
Pixel spent the next couple of hours going down a rabbit hole of Rainbow’s past. Most of it was just squeaky clean articles about the team. Nothing to scandalous or notable to dig up. Pinkie Pie was next on her list, just like Rarity Pinkie had a handful of different social media accounts.
“Let’s see...She has three sisters and her parents are a...Geologist and a renowned volcanologist. Wow, I did not see that coming!”
After a bit of digging Pixel exhausted her search, nothing interesting to report on her target. Feeling a bit board Pixel cracked her knuckles before looking back at her notebook.
“Huh, I never really looked into the Apple family. Well not in depth anyway…”
Applejack herself had a small social media presence. But on the other hand her brother was a different story. Macintosh had quite the online following for such a shy guy. While clicking through Mac’s old posts; Pixel found something that made her stomach drop. It was an obituary about Applejack’s parents. Apparently Mac posted a heartfelt post on the tenth anniversary of their parents death.
“Car crash…” The words escaped from her lips without her even realizing it. Feeling overwhelmed Pixel shut down her computer and crawled into bed. Her thoughts felt heavy as she tried to feel the sweet release of sleep. Her mind continued to buzz with thoughts of Applejack. Pixel couldn’t even imagine losing both of her parents at once. In a way it made her respect Applejack even more. She also wanted to get to know more about her.
*How does she do it? Where does she get that kind of strength?*
“You look amazing Rainbow!” Squealed Rarity.
Rainbow blushed slightly. “You think so?”
“Absolutely! You are a natural!”
Rainbow just finished possing for her newest look that Rarity put together. Moose stood next to her wear a bandana around his face. The pair possed next to one another dressed as fashionable punks. After Rarity got all of the girly looks out of her system. She started dressing Rainbow in more edgy and fantasy looks. In a few pictures Moose was paired with Rainbow when he could cover up his lower jaw. Moose’s favorite day was now makeover day as Rarity put it. It was fun to dress up and spend time with his girlfriend.
“I couldn’t agree more.” Said Moose, he gave Rainbow a slight squeeze. Rainbow felt her face turn red when Moose tightened his hand around her waist.
