I don't know how many of my followers are still active so perhaps I'm just going to be talking to myself here. I took about a year break from this fandom and now that I'm going through this site, it makes me sad. The fandom really feels dead. This show has been something special for me. I started watching when I was 12 and it gave me a sense of identity almost. Ive met so many awesome people and this show and fanbase has honestly helped me through hard times. I didn't talk much in school so I felt like I found a community.
It didn't matter if you were black, white, fat, skinny, conservative or liberal. You could just be a pony while online. As silly as that sounds lol. I mean there's literally a group on here just for talking about depression and suicide, just having someone to talk to. I honestly can't tell you how much talking to people on there has helped me. I honestly thought this fandom was unstoppable when it first came out, In my 12 year old mind I thought it would be Star Wars-esque. Silly to think about it now.
I really hope G5 revives the fandom and is just as good as FIM. Very wishful thinking I know but what else is there to do? I would hate to just see something that was such a big part of my teenage life just disappear. I'm rambling now.
If you made it this far let me know what you think of the fandom right now? How good of a chance do you think it has for survival?
I am active, I read, but the show i no longer watch! There are 3 active stories (off the top of my head) that I still follow religiously. But I haven't watched the movie or anything past season 5

Same here, I wanted to get back into the actual show since they announced the last season, but I'm not sure how the quality holds up to the first 4 seasons and I haven't had the time. "There are three active stories I religiously follow" So relatable.

For me? It's the appeal of wanting to read other fandoms, playing video games... or just not watching TV as much as I should or did.
There was a time when I was 6 all the way till around 19 when I watched TV religiously (Old Nick, Disney Channel, and Boomerang were the shit)
now I just play video games, and read fanfiction!

Very much the same for me. I like the show and I'll probably go back to it but I've spent countless more time reading fanficton and interacting with the people in the community than actually watching the show. For the last year it's been all video games for me, I was just surprised to see how much the fandom seemed to shrink while I was gone. Particularly on Fimfiction .

There were some authors I talked to, or followed that left. We lost a lot of the good ones. But hey, if I allowed it to really get me, I wouldn't have entered the Undertale Fandom and read that kickass story that made me cry at 3 in the morning!

Yeah I suppose I should be happy it happened not disappointed it's ending. I never really connected to a fandom quite like this though, other then maybe Halo.

I still have a few pony stories in my head... but it's been awhile, they were thought up around Season 4, Most of them use knowledge from Season 3.. Nowadays, I would rather just play my computer instead of write. Most of my ideas are Undertale related now, or Aliens... or hell, everything BUT ponies

Is the Undertale fandom still strong? I never played it but I remember it being another huge fandom alongside adventure time and MLP when I was more involved.

As far as I am aware, there are still people involved. Not as religiously fanatic, but fan games and music, and fiction still show up. I am waiting on one such game. Delta Rune was released not that long ago which is a pseudo sequel of sorts.

I've been wanting to try it for a long time but never really got around to it, but you've got me interested. I'm going to give it a try tonight and see what it's all about. I needed something to take my time while I wait for Borderlands 3 to come out anyway lol.

If you ignore how crazy the fandom is, and how they tended to bully a few youtubers to play a certain way, its a really fun game. Not like, the best ever, though if it resonates with you strongly as it has myself... then it can damn well feel that way!
I'll get back to you on it, it looks like a cool game and I'm a huge fan of story driven games.
