My Little Pony Season 9 News 03/19/2019 · 11:43am Mar 19th, 2019

GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for the final season of MLP! Before we proceed with today's manner, I'd like to send a quick shoutout to a Mr. PelleK for this stunning metal cover of the MLP theme song (You can find the link to his channel through this video, I'd recommend checking him out). Anyways, as far as MLP news goes, I was just scrolling through the web just the other day when I stumbled upon a scoop involving both a possible title and synopsis for one of the upcoming episodes of the season. So today, I'd like to take a minute of your time to discuss an episode that is sure to follow the premier simply titled:

Uprooted

Right off the bat, we can tell this episode involves the 'Tree of Harmony' even though previous screenshots and trailers indicated the destruction of the very Tree itself in part due to the return of King Sombra, who is scheduled to reappear during the first two episodes of the season. So why then, would we have a synopsis indicating that somehow the tree is calling out to the Student Six of all the inhabitants in spite of it's inevitable circumstance? So being the curious individual I've been going over the screenshots from the trailer carefully trying to determine a connection to what might fit the scenario. From previous scenes, we do see that the Students are shown that the tree was indeed destroyed and thereby the elements as well (Despite we also saw the Mane Six harnessing some great power to fight back against Sombra, much to his surprise). Yet we also witnessed the very spirit of the Tree itself, taking the form of Twilight Sparkle, bestowing the group some form of power (Though the colors representing the mane six transferring to the Student Six are still up for debate in regards to whom matches with whom), while also keeping in mind that this takes place in a rather mixed up world that someone like Discord could come up with. With all of this in mind, I managed to conjure up a possible theory for everyone's consideration.

As we know, while typically it's the friendship map that summons certain characters to embark on Friendship missions, it's possible the tree itself regardless of it's destruction must still have some power left and rather than calling out for the Mane Six instead it chose the students. Just as we saw last season when the tree determined to test the friendship of the students within the bowels of the school, I believe the very reason it's chosen the students stems from the possibility that the spirit has little time before it disappears and needs to bestow it's power on those it can trust. But in order to gain this power, despite the fact most of the Students are not ponies like Sandbar for example, they must prove themselves worthy by undergoing yet another test one that would require to once more test their personality in order to determine the very elements that represent them individually. Even though we haven't many episodes to truly get to know the students since their initial arrival at the beginning of Season 8, this circumstance has led me to believe that the tree has selected these Students for a purpose. That when there comes a time when the Mane Six are no longer able to defend the land as they did in Seasons pass, Equestria will require new heroes when the Mane Six assume their place as rulers of the land (As the trailer seemed to imply) and so it calls for a new generation of heroes.

The following scene below seems to hint why this would be the case:

Looking back on this, I had assumed this would happen during the premier but I'm starting to believe this may not be the case. And note the Elements going towards the Student Six (Or Young Six, whichever you prefer):

Gallus (Rainbow Dash, Element of Loyalty)
Yona (Applejack, Element of Honesty)
Silverstream (Pinkie Pie, Element of Laughter)
Sandbar (Twilight Sparkle, Element of Magic?)
Smolder (Rarity, Element of Generosity... I'm still thinking on this part)
Ocellus (Fluttershy, Element of Kindness)

Now granted when we first see this play out, there are some elements that seem to match the Students but others may have different preferences based on the times we've seen their personalities flesh out. Still, I am led to believe that if it's not the 'Elements' themselves going towards the Six looking at the bigger picture the 'power' itself is being bestowed upon them.

With all this in mind, it's an interesting choice to have the Student Six assume the powers of the elements even though the crystals themselves shattered along with the tree. But just as the heroes of the Super Sentai series still hold some inner power even when they are not able to morph, the power of the elements still lives on and simply requires a new host to keep them from falling into the wrong grasp. And given we'll still have twenty-three more episodes after the premier and Episode 3, there's a slight chance we can still have this final opportunity to learn about the students as they learn to adapt to embracing this magic. But again, this is just a rough idea I barely managed to conjure upon the study of the synopsis/title as well as previous scenes from the trailers before establishing a connection. At the end of the day, I leave you this question to ponder:

What do YOU think?

Until then, this is the Dramamaster829... Signing out!

Even if the young 6 will protect ponyville. Can we still have the main 6 still go on adventures in our fimfics?

Of course, Mr. Ribbert. I never said that the Mane Six are likely to 'retire' just because of the probability the Students might surpass the masters. At the end of the day, the students are still rookies compared to the more experienced adventurers. There is still so much these kids will have to learn and fortunately we have the Mane Six to still have this adventurous nature that will never die no matter what they say otherwise. Besides, even if the Students should go on adventures, if not as guest stars for already existing materials... They should embark on their 'own' adventures in order to prove they are capable of stepping out of the shadows of the veteran team.
