A Little Talk About Schedules · 3:35pm Jan 28th, 2019

As you may or may not have noticed, I've published a chapter on a Monday. Me from a week ago would insist that this shouldn't happen.

However, I have to realize for myself that not only am I human, but that I cannot control my own schedule fully. No matter how punctual I try to be, only God is in full control, and He sometimes gets me out of my proud bubble and concepts of what I consider my time (when it's really His).

Of course, there'll come a time when I can't write two decent chapters a week. Events and added responsibilities can and will crop which I cannot control and/or modify to fully suit my own liking.

Over the past weekend, I've realized that I was such a stickler for publishing chapters on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Why? Well, it was originally to provide the most equal pacing in between chapters—then I realized a Mondays and Thursdays or a Tuesdays and Fridays thing would be the same anyway. It could also be cashing in on the weekend half of the time... probably.

But I can't reliably keep up two chapters a week, one chapter every three days, not with absurd perfectionist consistency. So, in short, I'll try to post two chapters a week as usual but delays can shift which days they'll end up publishing in. If I get delayed by one day, it'll no longer be Wednesdays and Saturdays; it'll be Mondays and Thursdays. A one-day delay again would push me to a Tuesday-Friday schedule. Two days would put me back to a Monday-Thursday schedule. You get the drill.

While I don't think it'll affect Gift that much, it'll surely and considerably affect the stories down the line. See this as a heads-up, if you will.

I hope you have a good day ahead.
