Happy New Year · 3:58pm Dec 31st, 2018
It ended up being a very busy year for me. But productive on a lot of fronts, ultimately. I mean, it never feels like enough, but I really got more done and learned more than I ever expected I would. I suppose a big part of it is that there's always more to do, always more ideas, always more things that I wish I could fit in the day.
Writing-wise, I've done a lot of commission work, but next year I'd like to take some time to get some personal works done. Maybe something silly for here, maybe get moving on my Faballar project, I don't know. I owe a few commissions yet, but I'm planning to get all that done in January, and from then on to space it out as much as I can to ensure I have time for personal projects.
Speaking of personal projects, I officially adopted a horse in December, and I've been making huge strides with him. His name is Quattro, and he spent about six years at the stables I frequent doing nothing but languishing and being used for behavioral science classes. He was severely abused and rescued by some well-meaning people who unfortunately didn't have time for him, then ran into their own problems, so no one ever did anything with him and no one could ever figure him out.
It took like a year or so to get him to trust me, but once he started to, we quickly made some huge strides together. I ended up training him myself, and he's gone from "unusable" to fully rideable. I honestly never thought I'd own my own horse, but. Here we are.
Life takes you weird places.
Happy New Year to everyone, and I hope it starts well for all of you and ends up being a better year than the last has in every way.
Congrats on the horse! Have a happy New Year!

And both turned out a thousand times better than I expected them to.
