I believe one of the biggest dick moves one can make on this site is flat-out telling an author that just because you didn't like it, that the author has to change it. Insulting.
You know, if I don't care for a story, I just move on and find a story that I do enjoy. That has happened on occasion, and I don't fret about it.
A writer's story is something that is personal, and I feel I have no right to tell others how they should write. I may offer a suggestion or two, if I feel it could help, but it is just a suggestion, not a demand. I would rather read something that was from their own creativity, and not something others dictated they "have" to write.
