We All Tumble Down · 7:14pm Dec 4th, 2018

I imagine that a lot of y'all aren't too particularly in love with a website like tumblr. Nevertheless, it's still pretty dayum sucky that so many artists and content creators and content sharers and those who simply wish to tentacle in peace are being shunned like the plague. Even those who are completely about sfw art are feeling the burn of this sudden and massive knee-jerk purge.

I'm not here to excessively mourn a moist pink digital hovel of mine, nor will I go on some tirade of waxing moralistick about freedom of creative expression or what-farts. I simply wanted to give one supreme shout-out. Namely Drace Domino.

A lot of y'all probably already read his stuff. Some of y'all likely know that I lurve him like the dickens--between stuff he's written for me and overall cool bromancin'. But, to put it simply, the last few years for me haven't exactly been the most cheerful or inspiring. But discovering his written stuff in 2016 lifted my spirits among other things and Drace is just a cool cucumber in general.

The implosion of tumblr (and not of the colonoscopic kind) is really putting the hurt on writers/artists like Drace and countless others. So, if you'd like to check out some really really smexy Equestria Girls literature--among other fandoms and original works--go check out his blargh and then pay a visit to his Twitter account, where he'll be migrating his future library. Unless you have an obligatory aversion to all things playful and phallic, you won't be disappointed.

Well, that's about it for now.

That's the second time I've used the poor "I Wrote This At the End of 2017" Flash fic as a buffer to make a scarcely relevant blargh post.

Almost makes you think I should upload more Rated M stuff...

I came to Tumblr to follow various MLP comics, and even after they’ve concluded or gone silent, I’ve still enjoyed other fan content, opinion pieces, journals, well wishing and dumb jokes and memes. Sure I’ve found stuff like hentai on there, but I have the REST of the internet for that if I want it. I always saw Tumblr as having more alongside art, and plenty of excellent art besides porn. But it is a shame that the human form is going to become so prohibited from artistic expression (and specifying women over men is bullshit). Also the idea that someone could be kicked off for any prohibited content they might have just posted in the non-prohibited past.

Fixed it for you. <3

According to the information Tumblr gave out, you can appeal any flagged content and that each appeal will be looked at by actual people.
So Tumblr seems to have learned something from the automated disasters of YouTube and Deviantart, which means that SFW pony ask blogs (and with that, 99% of the blogs I am following) should be safe.
I am only worried for SFW blogs that have posted a suggestive or lewd joke in the past and whose creators aren't active on Tumblr or don't care for the blog anymore. If they get taken down because of false flagging, the creator will not be there or not care enough to get them restored. :fluttershysad:

And to think I had just recently stared warming up to using that Tumblr account I hardly log onto for something. But then the staff decide to take that one thing away.

And thus it goes the same way as MySpace and Friendster before into the Internet Ether.

Im still amazed that a rotten company like Apple who owns stakes in litteral slave labor camps in china and North Korea, factories that have to have suicide nets because of the terrible working conditions in them and what not...
Is supposed to be some sort of moral arbiter dictating to others what is wrong or right...

considering some of the examples of things I've seen that have been flagged by their algorithm, those appeals will be going on until the bees get the vote.

Then they will. Tumblr said actual people look at appeals, so it's their fault if they drown in work because their algorithm breaks.
They will have to do it regardless and they better restore everything that is falsely taken down. If not, all hell shall break loose on them.

I don't go to Tumblr for the lewd stuff. I have mundogaturro for that (?). So in theory the change shouldn't really affect me, but it does. A lot of people I follow and I have known for years are leaving the platform, both for having being unable to post adult content that is at least a part of what they produce, and because of all the false flagging. Yes, you can appeal the flags, but only for your own posts. But seeing how many things were false flagged this week, it's understandable if they are already tired of having to appeal everything.

This seems the point I finally decide to create a twitter account. Still won't be the same, as most of my blogging I do at work hours, and twitter and facebook are blocked at my office.

My tumblr, for my part, will be turned into a gallery for sfw fetishes, both as a protest and as an experiment to see how much one can get away with now. So just hit me up next time you want original drawings of frilly dresses.
