In the old manehattan, fully published and an apology.

So some of you may have noticed that In Old Manehattan has had all its chapters published and been marked as completed.

I finished this story very late last month after finally just throwing my hands up in frustration and pressed through the remaining chapters and completed them. I was getting really frustrated with this story and I can only apologize for the rushed feeling there in the final chapters. The main problem was it just wasn't the story I initially wanted to write.

The thing is, I planned this story out years ago, like shortly after I finished In the Broad Daylight and was still plotting out the story that would eventually become Possession in the Crystal Empire. The thing is, I never updated my plans properly and once I finally finished Possession, I just dove head first right into writing the story, following old plans.

The problem with the old plans, a lot of the characters I was using had changed, a lot. It didn't help how long it took me to write The Time Keeper and how different Possession became from its original plans.

Barricade was still in his prototype version back then, I was actually writing a completely different King Sombra and there were just things that no longer matched with how Barricade ended up being or even King Sombra.

As I realized this and caught on a lot of the things I wanted to do no longer matched, I started cutting things out, trying to streamline the story more. In the end I realized I was trying to make a fairly simple story far too complicated and took another hatchet to the plans. In the end I had to sacrifice a lot of things I intended to do in order not too over complicate this story. Instead of being a sequel to In the Broad Daylight, this story really became a semi-sequel to Possession, Tango, The Time Keeper and to lesser extend In the Broad daylight.

This is also the reason I'm from now on writing stories to completion before publishing them now, I just want to make sure from now on that I'm putting out stories that stick to the plan and I can do necessary rewrites when necessary. I'm seriously embarrassed for making such a newbie mistake, when I've been writing for over 20 years. Oy.

Anyway, again, I apologize for the rushed chapters and basically for the story as whole. I'm still keeping it up, as a firm reminder to myself to not do this mistake again.

If you still enjoyed the story, I am glad that you did. There is nothing wrong with that. Maybe I'm wrong and the story is fine, I honestly won't argue with anyone who does think it's fine. But I won't disagree with anyone who doesn't think it's fine. I personally think Applejack (my second favorite pony) and the Crusaders deserved a better story than this.

Anyhoo, I aim to complete Temor before this year ends, and next year I aim to eventually publish the actual sequel to Possession in the Crystal Empire, which is being written as we speak. I have finished eight chapters so far plus I have drafts of several more chapters.
