Coming Soon: The Last Charger · 3:39am Sep 6th, 2018
Synopsis:
It has been four hundred and fifty years since the clans of Old Pegasopolis went into exile. The island-nation of Freeport languishes under the rule of the Necrocrats; what began as an idealistic experiment has become a new form of corruption, the ideals of the past lost amid the greed and vain ambition of lesser men. Clan Charger has been all but destroyed, while the Strikers and Doos teeter upon the brink of collapse. There is no hope for the future.
However, when a down-on-his-luck mercenary captain crosses paths with Torch, the last survivor of Clan Charger, it sets in motion a chain of events that will redefine the very face of Freeport itself.
Kewl!
Ooh, some history of freeport's liberation. Chainbreaker is coming into this naturally, which will be cool. And I'll just ignore the inevitable comment fights about it...
Hold on to your butts.
What are humans doing in Freeport?
Joking aside, this looks really cool. I'm always down to see more of the different periods in the history of this world, and all the better that it's one we've already heard mention of in other stories. Looking forward to it!
Ooh, sounds neat. :)
Freeport history? This should be interesting. No stories in the Winningverse have taken place in this time period as of yet. Just the modern day (events of the show/"Winning Pony"), slightly before the modern day (Sunset), and the Lunar Rebellion era. Clan Striker....who were their notable members? I think they had someone in the Ephorate?
I want.
Looking forward to it. I'm hoping that Torch can redeem the honor of Clan Charger.
Huh. That's an interesting pattern on the sword's blade -- is it made of the Equestrian equivalent of Damascus steel or something like that? Or something crucible-forged, at least?
This looks awesome!

Steel Striker, the Big Mac-esque ephor who was also Dusk Charger's sire.

Right, right. I kinda remember him from the early chapters of "Lunar Rebellion". That was a long fic, though, and it lasted several years before it was finished. Did Steel Striker end up surviving the war? Someone met Shadow when she stepped into the Ephorate as a conqueror.
Edit: skimmed one of the last chapters. He most definitely did not survive getting incinerated by Celestia
looks like fun,

Steel met his end in Ascendant Shadows 12, at the battlefield of Maresidian Fields.

Appreciate the reminder.

Something like that, yes.
Ooh, more Winningverse history. This promises to be epic indeed.
Words cannot describe how excited I am for this!
Can't wait!
Ooooo, sounds interesting. I've been wondering recently about the details of the Freeport exile, ever since that Luna story.
Yes!
Can't wait
And so a nation takes it first breath... a Republic in the making. No Kings, no Gods, only mortals.
There is always hope. In the darkest woods, or the worst of sea storms, as the wolves howl and scratch at the doors and the wood and ropes of ship creak and snap, its the only thing one has. Just see me through this, if theres anyone listening, and let me see the sun rise... and with it, a new day.
And if change does not come with its rise, well, there's always tommorow.
Oh pilot, tis a fearful night
theres danger in the deep.
I'll come and pace the deck with thee
I do not dare to sleep
Go down, go down, the sailor cried
this is no place for thee
Fear not, but trust in providence
wherever thou may be
-The Pilot
Hmmm... Two tone mane, light blue coat. Could this be the start of the Dash line? Charge... Dash... Hmmm.
I am sooo hyped! I heard there was going to be a naval battle in it.
