Quickie Reviews: Purple Fleur · 11:43pm Jun 13th, 2018
Okay, aside from posting a blog on one of my stories asking from opinions, I got a new review to give you. Won't take you but a few minutes to read, ergo quickie reviews. Hell, pulled right from the comment section of the story in question.
The story in question?
Oh god, oh god, oh god... I don't even need to look at this fic to see some problems, though I will read the first chapter anyways. Firstly, the cover art. Kill me now, because really, quite honestly I would bet you money I could go to Deviantart or Derpibooru and find images of mlp characters in their underwear a thousand times better than this, which is just poor photoshop work.
And the cover itself? Really, writing a drama story and then putting a girl in her underwear as the cover art? Shameless clickbait material right there.
And the biggest piece of "drama" and I use this word very loosely, is the age difference between the girls being 21 and 30 respectively.
Also, just this.
The purple anthro took another deep sigh.
...Purple anthro?
Also, this line right here?
also, "she said with intimidation in her throat"
gives me all sorts of mental images, and none of them good. Actually, you know what this reminds me of? Reminds me of a bad ripoff of one of a really bad Nicholas Sparks book. One of those dime store bodice rippers really. Written by a pasty skinned nerd wanting two of their favorite ponies to bone. This is a cheap-ass dime store novel rip-off, is what it is. If not for the book being about lesbians with the only real drama being the age difference, I'd say this was for those types of women who have nothing to do but sit around and eat ice cream and sigh about how good romance is.
Edit: You know what, a friend of mine actually found a much better piece of Fleur in her underthings, fairly recent as well, so why not use that?
... Not even stepping into this fic, nope, nope no siree!
*backs away, sliding with chair*
...
*slides back up*
Oh my. Hiya Fleur
Uh....
On a side note, the author in question has a nasty habit of deleting comments and brushing off constructive criticism as trolling. Lovely guy, I'd say.
