A Query · 12:03am May 30th, 2018
Hello dear readers. Currently I am working on updating a few of my stories after recovering from a rather nasty cold and many other things, and one story in particular has been left by the wayside too long. So, A Titanic Destiny is going to be updated soon, likely before any others, (Edits not counted) but as I started to work on it, I came up with an idea I thought might be cool but wasn't certain about. How do you all feel about giving the story a song at the start of each chapter? It'd be the same song each time, almost like a theme, but I'm not certain about doing it because, quite honestly, I'm worried that it's too vain of a thing to do.
Please leave your thoughts down below, and thank you all for continuing to read my stories.
NOTE: Thanks to some guidance from FTR2017, (long may he eat seafood happily) the song will be in lyric form at the top of each chapter. If you want to know the song, let me know and I'll shoot you a link. That said, I'd still like to hear what you all have to say about the matter.
As long as the song is fits the subject of the chapter, I'm fine with it.

Well, he did say it'd be the same song every time, right? In that case, it's not possible to fit it to the subject of any chapter, because then it'd no longer be relevant past its first use.
It'd mainly be trying to fit it with the theme of the entire story.
I'd suggest you keep it only 'public-domain' or original, as you risk having mods telling you to remove them or have your chapter deleted plus ban due to the rules stating that copyrighted music is a 'no-no' with exception of pony music.
I'd also bet Hasbro music from other properties could work.

The blog you just posted died on me - so I'll copy my answer to you here:
From the Rules:
These have been quoted from the Rules tab.
I hope the suggestion for removing lyrics helps a bit, and hopefully there won't be a need for further changes in your story. Just because we don't agree with it doesn't remove the fact that it is a necessary evil, lest we lose the site to a lawsuit.
Just try to consider how to make the changes in future chapters to comply with the rules.

Now, as to your query...
I imagine that as long as it is public domain (as in projectguthenberg kind of public domain) you'll be fine. An updated carol should be okay.
As long as you don't get in trouble I don't see anything wrong with it.
Though as for my how I feel about it I don't know.
Well, let's give it a go, then.
