I'm heading into the hospital for an MRI of my entire spine. Except, apparently, not? I just got a literal last minute call that insurance denied the lumbar section? Which is like...the section that's fucked up? So...the rest of this is just pointless theater unless I have a burst disc that I can't feel somewhere else along the chain.
I just...
Insurance can eat a bag of all the dicks. ALL of 'em.
I'll be back later.

... the actual fuck?
Oh man... accountants making medical decisions. Yeah, that's a good plan. I hope things work out/get better for you!

"We are going to insure you, just not anything that is actually in need of it"
Frigging hell.
Fucking insurance. Good thoughts. Hope it ended up being ... not a clusterfuck, I guess.

Quick update for this: The hospital shoved me into an MRI tube for 2 hours and did my entire back and pelvis, lumbar included. The test results should have gotten back to my doc today, and I expect a call or email tomorrow about them. Once we have results, the doc can submit an appeal along with her reasoning for the lumbar coverage. Insurance will then make another decision.
So until then, I'm sitting here recovering still from the experience, but I'm otherwise in an okay state at the moment.
4863074 How the fuck does the brain trust not get the whole "we're checking his lumbar for possible issue"?

Again, good luck!
