Fixed the spatial issues in the three chapters of “…The Furthest Stars;” hopefully they didn’t cause much confusion. The story itself should do that just fine.
“Brochure from the Middle of Nowhere” was an eleven thousand-word trash heap, collapsing in utero, which means it was all a waste of time, and boy, do I LOVE wasting time. I’m tempted to get rid of “Circles in Circles” as well. The single downvote is niggling at me like a paper cut between fingers.
I’ve been working on the step sheets to “…The Furthest Stars” up to chapter six in freehand, but I’m worried that it’s taking up too much time. I’ve taken a somewhat recent interest in roleplaying games (venturing no further than purchasing and reading the handbooks), so I’ve been toying with the idea of maybe writing out my step sheet like a D&D or Call of Cthulhu campaign map, using an Excel document with the proper story points, and notes for item and currency acquisition, conflicts, and vital events. The story was always going to have multiple arcs. Self-contained arcs, but strung together by several themes and one character: Tempest.
In a previous blog post I mentioned doing a separate adventure series involving Rarity. I realize that it would be much more prudent and beneficial to let “…The Furthest Stars” absorb that story. I’m totally not doing this because I couldn’t come up with a logical reason why Rarity would return to that mountainous area inhabited by the Diamond Dogs, now that the machine of her fashion empire is running without a hitch.
I don’t know, maybe it’s all just a waste of time.
I don’t know why I’m worried that all these websites like Fimfiction and EQD will decay once MLP goes on to G5. I know they won’t (I’m…sure they won’t), and I don’t have any basis for thinking this, but I’m still worried that I won’t have time to put up some kind of story that the MLP fan community, which I’ve been a part of for seven years, will actually enjoy reading.
