    Bookish Delight (FINAL)

    (sort of)

    Hey, folks. This thing on?

So I was originally trying to write this big essay blogpost about where I've been and the future of Bookish and all that, but... it didn't pan out. So we'll do the much, much shorter version that should still tell you what's important.

    WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

Did you think it was over

...yeah, that's fair, so did I. Still need to talk about that when I'm able. Until then...

    ELa Famille Royale
The Zephyr Heights royals just helped change the world. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time they've done so, and they'll have to answer for that... just as soon as they work on themselves.

    Question For the Crowd!

What, in your opinion, are Equestria's most significant locations? (i.e. Canterlot, Cloudsdale, etc.)

Please keep it to... oh, top 7, and excluding Ponyville/the Everfree Forest.

Thanks to all who answer!

JUNIPER LOVE TIME #2 · 7:08pm Apr 26th, 2018

did you think it was over

Reason #72:
SUPERHUMAN SPEED AND STRENGTH

For those of you who collect the ultra-cute EQG Mini dolls, Juniper is absolutely worth getting. She's fantastically designed with twintails in full effect, removable glasses, and you get BEST HAT (which, much like Trixie's SECOND-BEST HAT, you can put on any of the other Minis to give her apprentices. :3)

Juniper is exclusive to the deluxe movie theater playset which seriously comes with like 40 things, including a box office, an eeeeeevil interactive popcorn machine, and a full cinema where you place your real-movie-playing tablet in so anyone can go on a movie date!*

For your sanity, skip the first 35 seconds. Close-up review of the Juniper Mini itself starts at 1:30.

The whole thing's $18 on Amazon currently. It often fluctuates as well--it was down to $9 last holiday season. Turns out the value of your toys doesn't really rise when you put minimal work into making your character sympathetiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic Having bought both versions, I recommend going Frustration-Free, which condenses everything into a little box. The real playset box is MASSIVE.

See you next time!

*So yeah, ask me how sad I am that there will never be a Wallflower Mini and thus new best girlfriends will never hang out. Go on, ask ;_;

No Wallflower mini? I'm sad now as well. :c

How sad are you that there will never be a Wallflower Mini and thus new best girlfriends will never hang out?

Yeah it doesn't look to be in the cards :(
Juniper came out on time, around the time the Magic Series did, but FF's been out for 2 months plus atm and not a peep. Menawhile we've had Beach Minis and the next wave coming out are finally the girls in their current clothes.

I mean, there's still a miniscule chance, but it's awfully late. :(

Is it wrong of me to think that it's kind of appropriate for the toymakers to forget about Wallflower? (Sad, yes, but appropriate.)

Ooh, those are cute! :raritystarry:

Still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed regardless. :duck:

Shake what your momma gave you, girl!

(I am making the assumption that Juniper's mother gave her that... er... table-sized sandwich? It's what mothers do, probably.)

I wish there were more mlp toys over here. The toy stores are really not taking in much. And among what they have, there's not a single Trixie. Sad. :pinkiesad2:

I may have accidentally broken my poor Rarity mini sitting her between Dashie and Twi for their date night. D:

Fortunately the Walgreens down the street has had a stock of the EqG1 figures for practically ever.

The truth is we all have Wallflower minis and just can't remember that we do.

This meme really does need to live forever.

I ended up paying the full $30 for the set at TRU (before they announced the bankruptcy and all that). Purely to get my hands on Juniper. The playset itself is actually really well done - you get a TON of little objects the dolls can hold, the popcorn machine is quite good, and of course the fact you can stick a tablet in the theater to actually "play" movies is a fun idea, so I feel like I got my money's worth even if everything in it aside from Juniper herself is currently still in the box, stored away.

She also is important by being one of the few "villains" in the EqG minis line. Aside from her, all we've really gotten otherwise is Adagio (we will not get Aria and Sonata because their original dolls didn't sell well, so Hasbro thinks it's the character's fault and not, you know, the fact the dolls were kind of creepy), and the original Sunset Shimmer. And I suppose to an extent Trixie, given she was the rival opposite the Rainbooms (and manipulated by Adagio) in RR.

Know that premium price collector's feel--fell down the toku toy/figure rabbit hole for years. :rainbowlaugh: I LOVE the theater set too -- I just wish I had a place to display it XD

Juniper being one of the few represented villains didn't escape my notice either (I want Crystal Prep minis so damn bad) and if your stated reason is why we never got the Dazzlings rounded out, then that just strikes me as tone deaf given Sonata was the runaway hit and Hasbro often is better than most at gauging fandom response.

Also those EQG dolls were awful even--no, ESPECIALLY by--doll standards. I only ever bought Principal Celestia because of her cool back-of-box dossier and it having a better pony Celestia than what was out at the time. The dolls that are out now are....passable, finally, but the current Minis pretty much get it all right--not a fan of the rebooted minis either. >_<

Sitting here in bed, scrolling thru my feed. Happened to lay my phone down with that gif still on screen and pick up my cat. Realize he's sitting still (usually he squirms a lot) and notice he's starting at that pic. For nearly a solid minute. :pinkiehappy:

a.) i feel like that .gif was destined to go with this music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ0xBCwkg3E
b.) ...y'know, thinking it over? Juni really DOES get the best hat. Not just in EqG, not even just in the FiM franchise as a whole. That thing's legit a contender for Best Hat of All Time.

My current display isn't that spacious either - currently my minis share space with one third of the pony herd and the Transformers Animated/Prime figures, with the Sunset Sushi truck serving as background and stand to elevate my MOSC V1 Sunset to be visible.

My long term plans for display (which involve finally moving out of my parents house - unfortunately I'm still looking for long term employment so that's a few years off still) will have the theater set displayed as part of a larger Minis display.

I am in total agreement - Sonata would absolutely sell out and Aria would be very popular as well if only to complete the trio. From what I've heard, the head used for the Sci-Twi "Slumber Party" mini is the re-purposed Sonata head.

But like, how exactly do we get minis of Sweetie Drops (a.k.a. Bon Bon) and Roseluck, which nice as they are, are purely background characters (Roseluck more than Bon Bon), while actual main antagonists are ignored?

Its ironic, but had EqG actually just been the minis instead of the Barbie/Monster High competing things from the get go, I'm sure it would have been even MORE successful.
